Finally came in for me at work. I never knew of such a thing as 'mouse arm', but I have it. My forearm and tricep get really sore using a mouse the normal way for extended lengths of time. NO my hand will be in a natural position. It's a crime it costs as much as it does.

got this chair off craigslist for 450. the actual chair retails close to a thousand. the guy was selling it as new, and while everything feels pretty damn fresh with no scuffs of anykind, it was obviously lying in some office being rolled around given the condition of the rollers. either way, this chair is amazing and is only convincing me to drop more than a grand for herman miller's embody, which i was ready to do.

Don't get me started! But a few annoyances:

- randomly changing the views of my folders. I looked online and a lot of people seem to have this issue. I use big icons for some folders and small for others, and it changes from one to the other randomly even though I set the window previously. And then sometimes it changes to column view, even I never use column view for anything.
- app folder, can't move certain apps out into a sub-folder. I used to have a shortcut to the app folder in the dock, but now it's filled with programs I don't use. So I had to make a folder and use aliases complete with the distracting arrow. And launchpad (one of the reasons I actually upgraded) is awful.
- three finger swipe up and down doesn't work in BetterTouchTool. OSX seems to have said no other app can use that gesture.
- the loss of the 4x4 spaces grid. Oh yay, a continuous line of 16 spaces. I reduced it to four because anymore in a straight line was too cumbersome (I swipe between then rather than activate mission control and select one which is too slow).
- can't move files between the spaces. I have Finder open in space four, want to drag files to a program in space three. Fuck no, can't do that!
- I'm pretty sure startup is slower.
- programs keeping track of what file was open when I quit. So today I went to read a PDF, and when I opened it Preview also opened the porn I was viewing yesterday. Lucky nobody was standing next to me. So I have to remember to close files, THEN quit. Good lord. I've dumped Preview for any image viewing now anyway.

I've been looking at getting a new computer chair recently too but I have no clue what to get. Pretty much all the advice I've found seems to come down to "buy a used Steelcase or Herman Miller chair (unless you've got the money for a new one)", but living in a smaller city deals like those are impossible to find. Right now I'm considering ordering a Herman Miller SAYL but spending $400+ for a bottom-tier model isn't really sitting right with me. le sigh.

from all the research i've done, herman miller is basically selling it as the scaled down version of the embody, although almost to the point of not resembling its older brother. it's pretty new to the market so i couldn't find any professional reviews, but the few impressions from blogs seem pretty positive. it's probably the best chair you can buy new for 400. i'd suggest doing it and if you want to ever move up, given the market where you live, you can probably sell it at decent price used.

plus, it's fucking beautiful.

Well it's good to know that the chair appears to have your seal of approval. I want to do more research before I buy anything but the SAYL is looking like the front runner for now if I decide I'm going to spend that much.

And yeah, it's a pretty hot looking chair.

Like Borys I'm finally replacing my 8 year old CRT HDTV with something that doesn't weigh 200lbs and can do 1080p!

The bike light I have is a total pain in the ass to take off and put back on when I leave my bike somewhere. The elastic slip is such an amazingly good idea I'm surprised I hadn't seen it implemented before.

:arr yeah elastic mounting is nice, I use a computer from Knog on my bike which uses elastic mounts both for the display and the sensor, very nice and super easy to attach/remove. They make lights as well.

Hyperdunk 2011 Black is kinda boring, especially compared to the other color schemes for this shoes, but at least it'll always match with whatever I'm wearing.

Kinda wish I had a chance to try out the Addidas crazy light but I was already leaning towards the Hyperdunk because of concerns about the crazy light's durability.
