Bought this lens and hood (not my picture)...

...for $110 together. The Nikon 105mm f/2.5 Ai. Also the adapter to adapt it to my Sony. This is one of the lenses I originally owned but got stolen. Also, allegedly that same lens was used to shoot this famous photo...

...of course its not just the equipment but the potential is there. Got this lens to take some portraiture for my cousins senior pics.

wife hated the small wheels on her vespa, so i got her this even though she has yet to get her license (msf course keeps rescheduling):

a 2009 aprilia sportcity cube 250 and MOTHERFUCKER can it go. i popped it up to 80 (!!!) on 522 bringin' it home. she's super-pleased about everything but the saddle height (and the weird resistance on the turn signal toggle), so i may need to get the seat shaved down a bit...

Maschine Mikro MK2. I want to make some of my own music. I haven't used a groovebox in forever but I'm already using Traktor and stuff for mixing so I figured this would be the easiest way to keep that going.

so far it's taken me about two hours to install everything. i got to load a preprogrammed track and tool around with a scene or two before going to bed so I haven't had much experience with it. If you've ever used the F1 or X1 controller it feels a lot like that. I've never used anything like this seriously (being pure software back in the days of Reason 1 when hacked copies of fruity loops were king) so I have a lot to learn before I can really get going with it, but it's a solid piece of kit with a pretty interesting software lay out.

Yeah, it's a ribbon synth. You can't really play melodies with it, the keyboard is too shitty, but it does make some fun noise. What's really cool is that is has a fully analog filter (it's the same like in the old MS 10/20 synths) and you can route audio into it. The filter sounds really smooth, better than my softies or those of the Pioneer DJ Mixers. Only downside is that the output is rather noisy, so you can't really use it in productions.

I love that thing, you should get a Korg Kaossilator 2 with the awesome touchpad. I've been having more fun making music than playing video games lately. Been teaching my neighbor about synths and beat machines.

This is not for games. Its a great work/media machine but gaming no. I currently use a sager build for gaming- www.sagernotebook.com- this is my second sager and they've both been awesome. I sold my first sager to TVC- he's been having a lot of fun gaming with it.

I'm specing out a 17" with a 675M, i7-3630QM and 16GB RAM at around $1,500 that I'll probably end up buying. Still debating the size, but it's mostly for home anyway.

Keurigs are great. Instead of throwing the used k-cup away, we are saving them and using them to start seeds for the garden next year. They already have a hole in the bottom which helps when watering.

From a usability standpoint the hardware is awesome and in some ways kinda groundbreaking. Performance wise its fine most of the time- but some games PinballFX2 have a questionable framerate- hoping this is a app-side issue that can be fixed with updates. Win8 shines in the tablet environment. Touch cover is fine- but those that NEED feedback to type will probably want the type cover; in terms of accepting input- touch cover is great- even has a touchpad. I've used it most of the week instead of my iPad- and all that I came away wanting were a few choice apps- which will hopefully come in time. The tablet dimensions also take some getting used to- to support HD video it's wide- so portrait mode is weird/thin. I tend to use it in landscape mode since it feels the most natural to hold, and for the apps themselves.

Also I work at MS, so read some other reviews too so you dont feel like yer gettin splashed with kool aid
