Bought the Dell U2312 with Christmas money as I was still using an age old 1280x1024 tft. Really happy with it, Rayman Origins looks gorgeous on it.

We get those Coedo beers here in Seattle, but I've never tried them. I've seen some people oon Untappd drinking their East West IPA over in Japan. Looks to be draft-only.

Had a weird thing happen yesterday: tried to check-in on Facebook for a little place in Nara, but it wasn't yet registered there. It was registered on Untappd, even though the place only has Asahi Super Dry. Here in Osaka, there are NO ENTRIES for anything it seems like, but here was this little, out-of-the-way restaurant on a side street in Nara.

The sites on Untappd are actually from FourSquare, so that's why it showed up there.

After nearly six years, I've finally left the iphone pool and wandered into the android wilderness. Bought a Galaxy Note II the other day. This thing is HUGE. It's kind of weird having people come up to me and ask me about it when I don't even know what I'm doing on it. I feel like a fucking distinguished mentally-challenged fellow. But people definitely notice this thing.

The main thing deterring me at this point is that I have a ton of things set up the way I want 'em on iPhone, and it seems like it would cost me a lot of time and money to do so on Android. The h/w is generally far sexier elsewhere now though, although I love the actual design of the iPhone. I know people that use Windows phones or Android as their 'phone' but keep an iPhone around basically as an app device to do certain things they can't get elsewhere, which seems like a real pain in the ass and unnecessary expense.

Tell me about it. It's hard leaving the iphone behind. I've spent so much time with that thing and there's been a few moments that I grabbed my wife's iphone just because I'm so familiar with it. It's like I've developed Stockholm Syndrome. I really do love the Galaxy Note II though. It's a pretty impressive device, I especially dig the stylus. I just hope I can eventually get to the point where I'm not looking around for Angie's phone.

This is one of the big reasons I don't switch to iPhone. I've got so much stuff set up for my Android that I would hate to have to go and recollect/repay for all of it again on a different OS.

Those Galaxy Notes are sexy though. I would love to have one, but the carrier I'm switching to doesn't carry them...

I kind of gave up importing for most of last year outside Ys and SRW, especially the 2nd half because my tastes having been skewing more and more toward western/Euro games on PC like Sleeping Dogs, Hotline Miami, Giana Sisters, Walking Dead, etc...

But Play-Asia was having a sale so I AM BACK IN THE UGUU. Plus new Nippon Ichi game came out like same day as the sale and it wasn't "Let's try to save our company by releasing another Disgaea" so I had to support them on that. No idea when I'll time to play any of these, but they'll look tempting on the shelf for the next year. These are all games that if I had infinite time in the universe I'd actually play. I beat the original Namco x Capcom, and didn't hate it so I'm down to play the +Sega sequel. I like Layton a lot (though still need to play Layton 5 on 3DS) and like the cast of PW more than the actual games they are in so Layton x PW is a fanservice I can get behind. I was a big Tales fan until I never finished Xillia. But I'll get back and finish that one day and play this sequel. And I passed on Bravely Default at launch since it was the spiritual sequel to 4 Warriors of Light which was kind of bad, but I hear BD is pretty darn amazing and has a fucked up adult storyline, so I gotta find time for that one.

It's a great game. One of the best Gears of War clones out there, not counting Vanquish which is the king.
