Well the reason for gun control is to keep it out of the hands of a career criminals who can easily obtain them at gun shows/fences.  The random psychos from the suburbs that go on a shooting spree get more attention but they're not a very large public health threat.

The funny thing about the argument that an armed civilian could stop something like this is that that's never happened, not even in states with lax conceal-carry laws.

why I think these people go unchecked:

1.  Not all gun owners have concealed handgun licenses.  and even the ones that do don't always carry their firearm everywhere.

2.  This "us of fucking a", right?  This is the country that let some dudes take over a plane with boxcutters and shit.  fucking boxcutters.  forget a gun.

I said the argument too stupidly but the vast majority of the time the right to carry a gun wouldn't help since most people would not want to carry a gun around.

Besides, the main justification for gun control should have absolutely nothing to do with these random lunatics.  That argument is all about the average gun homicides.
