The first season is episode 0 [which is already on DVD], the two-hour pilot next week, and 19 more one-hour episodes.

I bought the DVD of Caprica w/tittays last spring, so I won't watch tonight.

Wait, tonight's episode isn't technically the pilot? I'll DVR tonight just to play it safe...

Actually, disregard what I said. Blame this one on IMDB for feeding me falsehoods.

Tonight's episode IS the pilot, which is a combination of the first two episodes. The DVD release back in April was an extended, uncut version of the two-episode pilot airing tonight.

It's been up on Hulu for a long time, I watched it a while back. I'll probably watch it again tonight though, just to refresh my memory. Basically what I remember is that the AI/Cylon chick was kinda cute.

I'm DVRing it right now, but I don't know if I'll bother watching it. I wonder if they cut anything from the DVD version due to time constraints?

It's being shown with limited commercial interruption, so content might be the only thing that got cut.

I watched the original DVD movie a long time back and honestly I've forgotten a lot of it. I'll watch it again when they start new episodes.

I remember liking it, but it doesn't necessarily have the strong appeal initially for me that BSG had.

It takes awhile to give an accurate judgment on some shows. Not all of them start off like a ball of fire. I sorta need to see where they are going with it.

She looks like a chipmunk storing nuts for the winter. "Hot" she isn't. Cute is so variable depending on the individual that pretty much anybody could qualify under that word so that's alright I guess.

I thought the BSG pilot was excellent along with the entire first season and I came into that highly skeptical. The rest of the show run was more uneven.

33 was white hot, along with all the rest of the Season 1 and the first half of Season 2. I didn't really care for the Pegasus sub-plot that much, but then Season 3 started out awesome as well. After that it dropped off and never quite reached that level of awesomeness again, but it was still mostly good IMO.

First season of BSG is rock solid amazing. All-Time Classic stuff.

The second season is quite good and peaks for me at the Pegasus conflict. Some of the best television I've ever seen. Unfortunately the resolution to that little arc isn't so hot in my opinion which is where the first cracks start to show. There are a bunch of weak episodes right after that also which is the first time that happens sadly.

After that the show had peaks and valleys and was always good television especially relative to the medium but it never again quite had a run like that unfortunately.

It's just impossible to tell a tight serial story with 20 episode seasons.

Especially when the network forces you to break seasons in half over the course of a year or two.

I thought the first season of Battlestar Galactica was pretty good, but I enjoyed the second and third seasons far more. The show peaked - for me, at least - with the Exodus on New Caprica. It was hit or miss after that, but usually always entertaining.

I liked the pilot but I think it was too big a departure from BSG which itself was never a great ratings draw. I'll still eventually get around to watching these episodes.
