So many crazy things happened to the cast of the original film.
Well...not really.
One person in the original movie was murdered at 22 shortly after the first movie came out.
Two people from the second film died at 60 and 53 from health issues during filming and a year after the movie came out, respectively.
One person who was in all three movies died at age 12 from health issues shortly before the third film came out.
Maybe if, like, every major cast member and crew member died under weird circumstances before the end of the 80's, we might have something. Otherwise, not so much.
