My tank was never damaged by the jellyfish so I have no problem with it. Just rotate AR and HMG damage while reloading whatever weapon you're not using. One shotgun blast does like 30% damage to one of them. EMP grenade to stun them if they are getting too close.

I don't understand how people have problems with this section.

Errr, is there a specific point you're supposed to aim at?  It takes about 10-20 shotgun blasts at point blank range to kill one on hard.

The glowing green dome on top of his body. I just tried it on hard, it takes 5 shotgun blast to kill him from 100% health. Just sit back and alternate AR/HMG until they get low on health. Once they turn red and start sprinting for the tank, blast them once or twice with the shotgun and they're done.

Ok yeah those green things are pretty easy if you cycle while reloading between AR and HMG with a power weapon for last minute closeup if needed.  I never knew about cycling weapons while reloading to get a constant stream of fire.  It's making things a lot easier, lol.

Finished up Act 1 on hard, once I got my HMG damage up (last run I maxed shotgun first as my main, this time I'm maxing HMG first) it honestly didn't feel much different than on normal.  Though yeah less hits until your dead.  Hopefully the enemy groups will get more interesting later on compared to normal run. Still, game is so fun.  Best shooter ever once you learn how to play.

Also what decides the upgrade drop rate?  I've gotten like 4x the amount of upgrade drops on this run.  On normal it probably took me 3 acts to max my first weapon.  Here I'm at rank 8 already by the end of act 1.

You know, with the fact that games like this and Bayonetta are so much better on your 2nd play when you SKIP ALL THE CUTSCENES you'd think they would just stop putting constant cutscenes in these action games in the first place.

At least Vanq is pure action on subsequent runs since Mikami was smart enough to not put qtes all over the cutscenes smh Kamiya, worst part of Bayo replays is qtes.  At least the Vanq QTEs are in the middle of action and short.

At least, the graphics are really shitty because it's running at some PS2 resolution.  I hope the next Xbox or PS can play it in HD.

beat the game on hard, was not hard in the slightest. I found Bayonetta much more challenging on normal. I guess I'm better at shooters than action games.

died a few times fighting: SPOILER

Robert Burns. There was just one small room where he had a ton of soldier friends who kept on owning me. Used an EMP thenspammed grenades and took em all out. Last boss was a little hard initially but I boosted around and found several rocket launchers so I owned one of the bogeys.

Now I just gotta mop up the rest of the cheevs on easy, then take on the challenges which I assume is the one major hurdle to 1000

Haven't played too much just yet, maybe only about 30 minutes or so, but it seems pretty fun so far. Can't wait to clear a few games from current backlog and get back to it.

I've got a huge pile of games that I want to play, Vanquish just isn't at the top right now. Not really a bid deal, it isn't going anywhere.
