I'm sitting in an Embassy Suites bar in Norman, OK right now with none other than Xzibit.  I'm too afraid to talk to him!

I have seen on the street, walked alongside on the sidewalk, etc. (never talked to, though):

- Jason Biggs
- Anne Hathaway
- Michael Richards
- Denzel Washington
- Morgan Freeman
- Gene Hackman

I've also "seen" some fairly big stars onstage in Broadway, but I doubt those count.

I used to see all sorts of celebs when I worked at the airport.  The most awesome one was Don King, tho.  He was riding on one of those motorized carts down the concourse with three huge security dudes, waving a little American flag.  I also met Chris Benoit, obviously this was before he killed his family and then himself.  It would have been weird if it was afterwards, cause then he would have been a zombie.

Sasha asked me for a light at a house party in South Beach. I also met and conversed with Ferry Corsten, Tom Middleton, Sander Van Doorn, and Tony from Above and Beyond. (all edm DJs of course, they are famous or not depending on whether you follow that 'scene')

I've seen Robin Williams on Clement in San Francisco. He looked... fearful. He had a weird, skittering walk. Either he was practicing for a role, or he's just insane for real.

I saw Jaime Gertz and Corey Haim at the Westwood premiere of The Lost Boys. She was hot, but he looked like he was heading for a massive, ego-induced fail, which happened a couple years later. Gertz showed up dressed like her character in the movie, but was otherwise incognito. Very cool. Haim showed up in a limo with a gigantic white duster, and a several person entourage. The manager of the theater ran out to greet him, very obsequiously. What a dork.

I used to know Quentin when he worked at Video Archives. It freaked the hell out of me when I was watching a video in my Kyoto apartment, and the clerk from my old video store was talking about winning the Palm d'Or at Cannes.

i interviewed a load of bands when i was at Uni, but mostly people no one would care about.

Ash, Gene, Sleeper, Underworld - i guess were the most well known.

I ended up hating interviewing people as it was always crushingly disappointing when someone whose music you admire turns out to be a complete turd. The people i really really wanted to like though (Collapsed Lung, Nyack, Catherine Wheel, Underworld) were all brilliant people.

I LOVE Catherine Wheel. Ash was great back in the 90s. Now, not so much.

I'd love to hear who you interviewed, actually. I'm a big fan of 90's British music.

I don't like to namedrop, but! Friend of a friend is dating Norah Jones. She invited us for July 4th. I was sloppy drunk and let her dog lick out my mouth and then we left.  I specifically remember this exchange:

"Dont let him lick out your mouth, that's gross"
"Actually, dog's mouths are very clean, Norah".

She was really very nice.

The smell must've been awful...

That's actually where I ran into Hathaway, Biggs, and Richards.  Spend a few days in Manhattan and you'll likely run into at least one celeb.

I actually saw Denzel Washington in Florence of all places.  I was on a university study trip with a bunch of other students and we were at a museum looking at Michelangelo's David and there was Denzel with his family getting a private tour.  A lot of tourists were trying to sneak pictures of him even though it's forbidden to take photos by museum rules (though I'm guessing they don't want pictures taken of the artwork...not other tourists). :lol

I can't even remember that. I remember saying hi to him in the coffee shop (for everyone else: DC and I used to work in the same building as Konami).

Maybe he'd have been more comfortable if I brought a poo-flinging monkey with me, or hid in a cardboard box.

Saw Queen Elizabeth II when I was about six.  She was handing out the trophy after a polo match.

I was sitting on my dad's shoulders to see over the crowd and he asked "Is that the queen?"

"Of course it's the queen, daddy," I said.  "Don't you watch TV?"

I met a bunch of celebrities I guess.  Mostly musicians and athletes, not so much actors.  I want to say Charles Barkley was the best meeting because that Barkley Shut Up and Jam early demo trailer was a joke amongst friends.  I still wish I asked him if he knew about it.

I would like to meet an actor.  If I ever see Forest Whitaker, I will scream "GHOST DOG" so loud.  Him or Tommy Wiseau are two people I want to meet.

This reminds me of an old GAF post.  AlphaSnake talked about how he met John Meyer on a plane and told him his favorite song of Meyer's was some low profile non-single.

I remember this because drohne summed up the urge people have to form an instant bond with celebrities by showing familiarity with their more obscure works:  "Only you, AlphaSnake, understand me, John Meyer!"  I've completely stolen that line since then.

At the time True Romance was one of my favorite movies. Besides, I'm pretty sure that film is absolutely his best performance. It's not like I decided to name-drop Heathers or something.

Coming Home in a Bodybag is a fictional movie that Christian Slater references in True Romance. That part was a joke.

Yes, my favorite single hour of cinema is the last hour of Aliens. It does a lot that appeals to me. Notice that personal favorite =/= objectively the best ever. Ichirou didn't get that for some reason and flew into a rage when I said it the first time.

It's not your place to call anyone's personal taste in film incredibly stupid, particularly not a film that is widely regarded as the pinnacle of its genre.

And no, I'm not comparing Aliens to Shakespeare. Try to get some reading comprehension skills, or else stop posting on message boards.

The last resort of the Internet argument loser: "LEARN 2 READ"  The pathetic part being that I said you were comparing AVATAR to Shakespeare, not Aliens.  Which you are, in regards to storytelling structure.  Never mind that the two are absolutely not comparable in any way.

I'm obviously dealing with a limited intellect here, and a total glutton for punishment.  I'm just going to stand in the sidelines and watch Mandark give you another spanking.
