Was gonna start from flash, but I'm getting the real thing today so I'll just wait.  The demo was entertaining enough.  As long as there's nothing that drags on like that circus case did in PW2 (was it 2 or 3?  I forget), I'm up for it!

Picked it up yesterday.  Still in the first case.  It hasn't grabbed me yet.  Music is definitely not up to the standards of the other games so far.  Hopefully it will get better.  I've always liked Gumshoe though and I'm glad he seems to be around more in this game.  Big and dumb, just the way I like 'em. :)

Can you post your Phoenix Wright list again? I played the first and dug it but I forget which was the second best game to tackle afterwards.

If I recall, they all build upon the stories of the previous games... so I'd suggest playing them in order.  Even if demi didn't think Apollo Justice was up to the standards of the first three games, surely he doesn't think it wasn't worth playing.

True.  I think guilty pleasure is how I'd describe them as well.  I got into them because I was in law school when the first one came out in the US.  The gameplay isn't anything special, but the stories are pretty funny.  And it's obviously nothing like the real thing.  I'm a prosecutor now.  We don't have psychic legal secretaries or colleagues with laser visors.  We do have big dumb adorable detectives though.

actualy 5
anyway i played the first two cases,it's phoenix wright,it got the weird character, the crescendo music when you are near wrapping it up,the finger pointing,it's good stuff
if i have a problem with it,it's that so far it lacked that *bang* phoenix wright had,i can't really put it into words, maybe it's because now the investigation segments and the showdown segments are mashed together instead of being separated, for example (small spoiler)
spoiler (click to show/hide)
when you start case 2,you get thrown instantly into a showdown
[close]
also there were a few part where i got stumbled because of the logic system, sometimes there is stuff that is extremely obvious but the game doesn't let you continue until edgeworth realize it trough the logic system

if you are a fan of the game, you should just check this for the huge amount of fan service and if you aren't why you would be interessed in this? you either a) hate the game, shame on fucking you b) never played one,in that case the original is cheaper and it's probably the best one (did i mention the original has a wiiware version for 800 points?)

Interesting scenarios, good music (who doesnt love the Interrogation / Courtroom music), serious tones (for anime)... you know, Phoenix Wright?

Instead I get Gumshoe flapping his lips, dopey characters (Leblanc from Case 2 is irritating to the point of turning off a DS), shit music, and weak inspection sequences.

It also holds your hand a ton. "I've checked everything here." "I wont stop until I check everything." "I should present EVIDENCE to this guy"

dude you are complaining about irritating character in phoenix wright? phoenix wright has so many of them i wouldn't know where to begin! and really the music being shit is all about opinions,in fact some music piece are reused and the "pressed" piece is a remix of the edgeworth theme we all known and love unless we want to say that count as shit music too
and really serious tones? phoenix wright? the game with internet meme's and lame puns?

as the game being easy,i do agree but it doesn't bother me that much

Demi is this worse than Apollo or on par?

I wholeheartedly agree with you on the progress of the series. It seems like all they want to do now is appeal to the fanboys instead of the casual PW lovers who liked it for different reasons.

Although cross examining the judge sounds like fun, how are the puzzles/cases?

Does this hold your hand even more than AA4? If this as bad Apollo I may not just buy, but I'm in the mood for more PW, so..

I'm only on Case 2 still. It's gonna take me a bit to finish cause it really doesnt have that catch that the other games did. Edgeworth is a great character, but he didnt deserve his own game.

He should stick to being fuck awesome from PW1 in that one case against Von Karma (and the Chief of Police - I think thats PW1?)

So far, it really is more of an atheist phoenix wright. I dont even know if they'll introduce ghosts and psychics. Everything is "Logic"

I beat PW1-3 in like the span of a few days each. It took me like a month to beat Apollo. This doesn't bode well.

The lack of ghosts and animu "mystical" crap sounds promising, though. I always thought it was stupid/weird/creepy how Mia would get in Maya or Pearls' body to save the day and give Phoenix advice. Let me play the game you dead bitch!

Apollo Justice was definitely the weakest one in the series thus far.  I hope this doesn't discourage them from doing a fifth one at some point, hopefully featuring Phoenix getting his lawyer's badge back.  I don't like playing as Apollo (dull character), and the whole shtick with using the bracelet is awful.

Getting Miles Edgeworth this weekend.  Currently finishing up Jake Hunter.  Doing the "joke cases" now since I finished the main game.

I think I'd put 4 ahead of 2, but otherwise, yeah.  The thing about 4 is that it's really one huge interconnected story, and despite not being the main character, it really still is all about Phoenix Wright in a lot of ways.

Started the new game and it's been pretty fun so far.  I like the more graphic adventuresque style it has now.

Case 3's beginning proves how longwinded this game needlessly is. You have to examine a bunch of stuff around the room, collect the "Logic" only to find a ladder to climb out of a room with. Oh, and in order to actually use the ladder, you have to put together two pieces of logic. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM really?

Probably the worst in the series, easily.

3, 1, 4, 2 here. I loved 1 as its the first and everything but 3 had all the 'teen angel' shit. Apollo Justice was playable as was 2 but 2 was just too convoluted and had too much distinguished mentally-challenged spiritual evidence and shit

gee i don't understand you guys at all! you never had to examine everything in older phoenix wright so you could keep playing? if anything you are restricted to a single room here so you never end up wasting your time by searching in the wrong place! anyway one thing that irked me about that part is that apparently edgeworth is smart enough to deduce the existence of the ladder trough logic but not enough to check below the cloth that's hiding it
