i try to buy my systems used for as cheap as possible, so it's like renting it when I resell it. Except for my 360, which I bought new 'cause I wanted it to last. because I wouldn't sell it. because it's not as bad and devoid of games as a wii or ps3

The appeal is that it usually has great setpieces.

It's not a technical game in the least bit compared to Bayonetta, but it has good visuals and nice setpieces.

Other than playing Uncharted 2 at it's launch, I haven't used my PS3 for games since I bought a 360 in late March of last year. That will change when The Show and GOW3 come out next month.

That means I'm shifting my BC2 pre-order to GOW3. Sorry boresquad.

Stoney and Beezy are better for the team anyway.

For exclusive content, this would technically be the worst time to sell it, but that's them breaks. I use the PS3 mostly as a media machine, and I won't have much use for such a machine over the next months. Hell, I don't think I'll even have ready access to an HDTV until next Fall.

I think my slot drive is going out. Sometimes it won't eject my disc. I have to keep pressing the button over and over again to get it. Sometimes I have to restart the PS3 a few times. It happens about 1/5 times I try to eject. It's fucking annoying and I'm waiting for the day it just won't give me my disc back $:-\$

The only consumer rule I live by now is: never be an early adopter.

Really, you get nothing but the worst deal. You pay the most, you get the buggiest firmware/hardware, and the least to do with your product until more is released. This applies ten-fold when speaking strictly of video game consoles.

Sony sort of shat on this a bit by gradually removing backwards compatibility. Firmware had some ways to go in terms of function, but the hardware was top notch. But, I didn't feel alright with the PS3 until I returned my 60GB for a full refund (Costco

) and got myself a slim.

With Wii and PS3, it makes sense. You can still fetch decent money for a BC PS3, and apparently a slim that is nearly 6 months old is still worth the full retail value.

I got a Wii for Mario Galaxy, played the game, and sold the system with no money lost. The PS3 I kept even longer. Not spending money is better than spending money, in my opinion. Especially if the thing is going to sit in a corner and lose resale value. And in my case, there is the added issue of decreasing international moving cost and bulk.

Not that staying in one place has ever stopped me from buying and selling stuff.
