I can confirm the Wii controls are trash from the demo.  Get the classic controller pro bundle.  The CC Pro is so much better than the original classic controller too.

checked gamestop and the regular version of MH3 is $45, the bundle is $55.  I got mine for $15 imported.

The camera controls are THE WORST part of the PSP control scheme.

Once you find a way to control it well, you will have other stuff to deal with

it's not a lack of story... i was expecting something like diablo... you know there you punch a skeleton and *POFF* an armors appear,here not only i haven't spent as much time punching dinosaur in the face than picking up mushroom and doing lame stuff like that but even when that happens the dino leave some fangs & pelts and that's it! the way to improve your equipment is sparce and so far there hasn't been anything that required any sort of upgrade at all,that's what i mean when i say it feels empty

anyway i finished the first set of quest and i finaly got my first "hunt big monster" quest so maybe i'm just getting now to the good stuff?

so now that the game is outside of "gather stuff" mode it has improved,i don't know... i like that finaly all the dino hide i carved is having some purpouse (by the way i crafted some sort of wide pants and now my character looks like some sort of heavily armored clown  ) and fighting giant dino is good stuff but i can't help but think that the combat is somewhat stiff and button mashy (my fault for playing with the wii remote setup tough?) and i'm not even using the slowest weapons like the hammer and the great sword! (which feel sort of unusable)

the loot whore in me is happy but the action guy is somewhat unimpressed...

Dude, Lost Planet controls aren't much better than monster hunter!    Between RE, LP, and MH Capcom has nailed the "stiff controls" segment of the videogame market.

At least Basara has good controls!

though, monster hunter 3 seems fine.  I played the Japanese demo and while it was sluggish, it is was easy to tell that you were about to be attacked, giving you enough time to either guard or run away.

i tried this online and it works perfect,which is surprising considering the last time i tried it was with brawl and online brawl sucks ball in every way conceivable! i'm not even sure i'm playing this on my wii because you can actualy chat with complete stranger! that's a sign that this is not a wii game!
uh anyway we did two quest,the first one went flawless but we took forever to finish the second one especialy since we went after two big hunts... the people i played with were mostly silent and we all used the hammer weapon

i continued playing online since i got more or less stuck on single
it's nice playing online but everybody picks the bird killing quest,i've killed like 6/7 giant birds between online and single (and yet i don't have enough stuff to carve myself a full set of bird armor  )

my third round went bad,some guy got himself killed three times and it was quest failed,last one went better... this time it was 2 guys with sword and shield and one guy with the crossbow

anyway i unlocked 4 star quest in single player,trough i'm concentrating my effort in multi and as such i've slayed like a gazillion of giant birds and giant lizards,currently i'm rank 6,i saw a bunch of rank 10 player and they were going to hunt a monster i never encountered by the game wouldn't let me join since my rank was too low,then i tried a fishing quest with someone since there was something weirdly enticing about the idea of multiplayer fishing but it ended up being the most boring thing ever,tough at least i got a lot of extra fish and quite some cash

i know nobody cares but i got myself up to rank 10 online so now i can hunt bigger stuff in multi,plus i got myself a very new nice armor set and a long sword which can paralyze stuff

you know at first i didn't really like this much but it really growed on me
online really makes the game shine (maybe also because it's the only decent online game on the wii) you don't interact with other player much but there is some sort of cameradie (did i spell that right?) that really improves the experience

capturing monsters online can be annoying,sometimes the trap get set,the monster get hits with the tranq bomb but he doesn't ends up getting captured and then everybody is like "fuck"

well when i said this i was still playing with sword and shield,i'd says it depends on your weapon,the longsword is another button mashy weapon but for example i couldn't say the same for the lance
by the way i tried defeating the first boss with my current equipment and he died in like 5 hits
