Noticed this Bluetooth adapter
project for old/new consoles on Hackaday (
Github repo). Goal is providing open source schematics and software for a device that one can connect any BT controller(s) to which then interfaces with the console and handles custom button mapping.
Consoles it supports currently: PS4, PS3, Xbox One S, Switch, WiiU and with physical wired-to-BT adapters: N64, GC, Dreamcast. Granted at the point one is requiring adapters for certain older consoles I could see an argument made for emulation but given it aims to centralize management for also newer consoles I think it's interesting.
