I know I'm not the only one who got Kameo with his launch 360 (and PDZ  :'(. Oh my god that game was such a sad mistake even at $50. Yep when M$ was still charging 50 instead of 60 but then quickly said "fuck that noise. What are we doing. Charge $60 like everyone else").

Turned out to be juuuuust alright. Pretty cool showcase though I will say. Maybe that's rose tinted glasses, but I thought that those open field battles with  kajillion trolls and chaos happening everywhere were pretty impressive that whole gen and not just as a launch title. Anyway, some Kameo related stuffs.

and hey here it is on the Gamecube at E3 2001  :lol

Kameo was a fun game. I have a soft spot for PDZ as well for being such a typical jank launch game that they worked on for like 5 years on 3 different platforms.
Rare was so directionless at the time that the promotional art for the game didn't even resemble the in-game characters at all.

This looked great

but then someone decided it should be more like this? Or the other way around?

But that's not what the final in-game model looked either and even some of the screenshots released as 'launch media' do not resemble the final game in any way.

Noticed this Bluetooth adapter project for old/new consoles on Hackaday (Github repo). Goal is providing open source schematics and software for a device that one can connect any BT controller(s) to which then interfaces with the console and handles custom button mapping.

Consoles it supports currently: PS4, PS3, Xbox One S, Switch, WiiU and with physical wired-to-BT adapters: N64, GC, Dreamcast. Granted at the point one is requiring adapters for certain older consoles I could see an argument made for emulation but given it aims to centralize management for also newer consoles I think it's interesting.

PSO2 on Windows Store is currently broken AF.... has a 2 outta 5 star rating...  been prompted to reinstall again.  Great first impression for me.  :doge

I loved PSO and spent countless hours on it on Dreamcast+GameCube, but i'll let the past reside in the sweet nectar of my nostalgia ridden memories, i think.

Yeah this attempt is fully driven on nostalgia... only reason I want to try it.  It, nor any other game in my life time, will surpass the hundreds upon hundreds of hours I dedicated to PSO gracing upon 3 consoles. ... And not that I need an MMO to throw into the mix of my thicc backlog anyway.

It's all kinds of fucked-up right now.  First it wouldn't let me install the game to my second HD (D) and only let me select C, despite my Windows settings set to install Apps on D.  But after downloading it, I was able to go into the Windows Apps settings and just move it to D, so whatever.  The after after launching the game, you have to download more data, and this just slowed to a crawl.  After several hours, it barely progressed.  A buddy said that he was also having issues getting it to play right in full-screen.  I checked around and there's all kinds of problems.  Found a Youtube video on how to "fix" everything and it seemed like a time-consuming mess, so I just uninstalled this shit.  Will wait until they get their shit straight.  Windows Store  :yuck

Quote
Outbuddies DX is coming soon to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One with the PS4 version planned for later this year. Developed by Julian Laufer over the course of seven years Outbuddies is a feature-packed otherworldly adventure with deadly enemies and an ever-trustworthy robot sidekick, Buddy.

Set deep in the Ocean and infested with hostile Lovecraftian creatures and lethal environmental hazards, players must dash, dodge, and blast through Bahlam, a danger-filled sunken fortress of the Old Gods. By deploying the Buddy unit to manipulate and scout the surroundings through hacking, scanning and telekinesis, the players will discover ancient weapon systems and gear upgrades to battle through a gigantic sunken labyrinth. Outbuddies’ local co-op mode allows a second player to control Buddy with an expanded tool set.

Based on the feedback from core-speedrunners and Metroid-enthusiasts since the game‘s PC release, Outbuddies DX now offers vastly improved visuals and a variety of new features added to the well-received original.

No surprises here. EA and NFL continue their exclusivity partnership. Now through 2026. Previous deal was set to expire after 2021 season.

When you make a billion and a half dollars off easy to create fake cards, it is hard to see an organization that loves easy money like the NFL wanting to sever that relationship.

Lots of people are now reporting that PSO2 is uninstalling itself randomly and that reinstalling will just lead to it uninstalling itself again.  :lol

Even though I moved the installed app to my other drive, 11 GB of space was still being taken up on my C drive, even with the game uninstalled.

Had to go C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSIXVC\ and delete the file 1D2C0454-5690-4446-B82D-F0AC35EE85B5 to free up that 11 GB.  That WindowsApps folder also wouldn't let me into it without changing ownership first.

Not going to redownload this shit unless it gets released on Steam or something.

Mine had the PSO2 "app" on the start-bar and couldn't even load it. Installation corrupted after playing it ONE time and rebooting.

MS store is such a joke. I wish they'd release Forza Horizon 3 on Steam so I could rebuy it and be done with their shitty walled garden bullshit completely.

Is it not that windows store FEATURE of hiding all of the files for quick 'reinstall' that happens with gamepass as well? I was missing like 100GB and it was hiding in delivery optimization files.

I have PSO2 downloaded but haven't tried it yet lol

Don't bother. Delete it if you haven't rebooted. Because if you reboot there's a chance the MS store will corrupt the download/delete a file and ruin the entire install.

I basically downloaded 70gigs over the course of a day just to play the game ONCE and then have it fuck itself over. #ThanksMS.

I just want to see impressive graphics, i'll be completely honest.
I don't care what game is going to show them.
We all know launch (and launch window) games are all shit anyway.
I hope it'll be a bigger leap than last gen, i was watching the direct comparison between LoU1 and 2 (of that scene they remade from the ending of 1) and i hope we'll get a bigger jump than that.

apart from gaining attention for the porn gimmick, pretty sure this account is full of shit though. :idont predicted things like Directs and Metroid news on concrete days that never happened, etc.

Some people are like "Metroid Prime Trilogy :uguu" but as much as I love those game I'm not going to be excited for a port. seeing as Prime 4 restarted development how about y'all actually follow up on Samus Returns' secret ending?

Give me Dread.

New games on Switch, while the majority of the audience cums over WiiU ports that cost more than 5 years ago or ten year old shit like Bioshock and Diablo 3 at full price? And while the hottest rumours are more ports like Prime and Pikmin and Mario? :goldberg Never.

New console = new games.

Just keep your old system hooked up or pick one up for cheap. It's not like there's any 'rare' cartridges or controllers anymore.
You can still pretty much get any PS3 or PS2 game at a reasonable price at this point.

Dont be a dumbass, dude.
1) I'm not keeping 6 different boxes hooked up to a TV.
2) Most people trade in the old system to buy the new.
3) BC is not even "retrogaming" anymore, games like R6 Siege, Fortnite, and even stuff like Hitman 2016 are experiences that flow through the generations.
4) You can't tell people to go digital, build their digital library, and then reset it every 6 years like you're Nintendo or something.

Your digital point is incredibly on point. I've got over 600 digital games on my Xbone account, and knowing every single one of those games will be compatible and run/look better on different hardware, makes my decision for a next gen console pretty easy to consider.

At this point, Microsoft has show effort and groundwork into making a videogame console have library continuity like PC's have. Sony has PSNow and ports with little to no upgrades.

They're not talking about BC though?

You're right, the tweet is about cross gen games.

Besides what Don Rumata already touched on, BC can also mean being able to play older games upscaled to higher resolutions or sometimes with better visuals/filtering to improve how they look.  I know I certainly would have liked to have had PS3 BC on the PS4 with all games upscaled to 1080P or higher.

It's not like there's any 'rare' cartridges or controllers anymore.

You can still pretty much get any PS3 or PS2 game at a reasonable price at this point.

WTF are you talking about?   :lol  Yes, there are.  "Rare" is often an overused term, but there's plenty of games out there that are hard to find (or hard to find in good condition) and/or pricey.  Controllers included.

Have an LG 34UC79G- looks like it works OK with it!
