I'm sure it'll be good, but dunno how the scope will be seeing that it's probably going to be more like an XBLA/PSN game than a full length rpg.

Though being a tabletop rpg about dice rolling and characters on stands...no idea. At least it should play well, look good, sound good, and have solid writing thanks to team Matsuno.

I'm not talking about 50 hour game. I'm talking about a full $50, 2-3 year development cycle effort title.

Guild 01 is a collection of four XBLA/PSN type games for $30-40. Matsuno's game is looking to be a table top rpg set so players can huddle in multiplayer groups and have D&D games. It'll be fun and good for sure, but if you expect something like any of the above you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Just saying, keep expectations in check with this one. Maybe if it does well L5 will let Matsuno make a full size game next.

Vagrant Story can be beaten in 15 hours.

Srpgs don't really have that much content. They're mostly just maps and menus. Most of your time is spent in 10-30 minute battles then you move on to the next map. Taken by themselves, srpgs are very short and content sparse compared to say, a full fledged rpg like FFXII with its multiple cities and towns and overworlds and dungeons, especially if we're talking about the production process. They're much "smaller" games in that sense.

HD bored me in the sense that I'd already played the crap out of the two PSP games, so HD brought nothing new to the table besides nicer visuals. Still had a good time with it but I WANT MY NEW TRACKS.

and thankfully 2048 has TEN of them

+ 4 PSP tracks, so 14 + reverse = 28 tracks

Did you not get past the initial classes? This is Wipeout. It starts slow and each class speeds up until the final class where it's insane.

I especially love the structure of the game. Can't go to the next track until you do well on the next challenge! Doing the next challenge unlocks the next track! Doing the next track unlocks the next challenge! Doing the next challenge unlocks a time attack version of the old track on top of a new track! It keeps feeding and feeding you new content endlessly. Wipes the shit out of Wipeout HD. I'm sure SSX will too.

I don't know what you're talking about. I love Wipeout. But HD bored me. i even said on this very page that the new Wipeout looks rad. I also adore arcade racers. I've never been a fan of Twisted Metal, though, so I'm not sure it could be construed as an arcade racer. Don't molleycoddle me because I don't think your boring game is the bee's knees.

Just speaking from personal experience, I remember the first two being a pretty big deal, then it kinda got Tomb Raidered and it seemed like everyone get burned out on meh sequels, but then when they got Jaffe back for Black, it was a pretty big deal again for a little while. But that was 10 years ago, so it's seems like a lifetime in videogame years.

This - this, is fast. Better track design too.

I don't know what it is, but Wipeout HD feels extremely weighty.
