I kind of hate how NISA/Atlus stuff goes out of print so fast.  I saw the gaf thread on the PS3 Bleach musou game bumped on gaf and thought maybe I'd pick it up if it's cheap now, but on Amazon the only seller that still has new copies wants $100 lol.  Used copies are $20.  The game isn't even 6 months old and it's OOP.  Wtf man.

Just buy the $20 used copy.

NISA/Atlus stuff is so random. Rorona and Totori have stayed in print, but Ar Tonelico Qoga went out of print immediately. So did Neptunia but they ended up reprinting it.

Yeah, I've been buying the Atelier stuff day 1 because of the questionable-ness of stock since I do want to play the games and don't want to import them.

Missed the boat on Ar Tonelico 3, but I'll never play that series so I don't really care and will never buy an Idea Factory game.

I don't like buying used games from the US because American's typically don't take good care of their games and they can be in pretty gross condition.  I don't mind buying used from Asia because they're always in pristine like new condition (except for the one time I got a Layton game and it smelled like smoke  :yuck).

Game only! Disc is in Like New condition. There is No cover art or inserts. This will be shipped in a clear case.

I got a couple used SRW PSX games off ebay from a seller in Japan. The cases were covered in Pepsi Nex point stickers and smelled like smoke. :lol

Pepsi Nex wtf  :lol

I also refuse to buy an game that may have been used for stimulation material used from ANY region.

Thankfully if I ever want Ar Tonelico 3 there is a THE BEST version for $45 new in Japan.

I wonder if eBay in Japan is only used by people who can't sell stuff to the used game shops. I've never seen anything less than pristine in the ones I went to, and the "blemishes" they sometimes listed on the lowered-price items were laughably small.

Meanwhile, the last time I was in Gamestop, 75% of the PSP wall was covered in placeholder cases. What the hell? Are American PSP owners incapable of taking care of their cases?

i've bought 90% of my games used and almost every time they're in great condition.  if you're buying them online, ask the seller for a detailed description.  if you're buying from gamestop, decline to purchase the game if it looks like it's in shitty condition.  easy.

according to a thread on the other forum, the pinball arcade iphone version releases today while the other one hits in march and these are supposed to be the tables for the next months

•Cirqus Voltaire
•Medieval Madness
•Gorgar
•Taxi
•Monster Bash
•Dr. Dude
•Attack From Mars

cirqus voltaire is good stuff but i'm disappointed half of the table are recycled from the williams collection

Only two of the tables from the Williams Collection will not be making it over. Jive Time and one other 'least liked' table will be left by the wayside.

Every other used Japanese game I've ever purchased (off ebay, at stores in Japan, at import shops in Seattle and Vancouver) has been in pristine condition. It was really odd and honestly, funny as shit. I could take some Goo Gone and clean 'em up, but I find the Pepsi Nex point stickers kinda charming.

“I thought I would quit making games,” he said.  He started saying home, drinking from morning until night.  He’d cry as he watched the movie Armageddon over and over again with his then three-year-old daughter, listening to Aerosmith’s theme song “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”

Eventually, he went back to work with a renewed sense of purpose, creating the follow-up game Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore in the state that he and his team wanted it to be.

“No matter what anyone says, Aerosmith and Armageddon were the ones who saved my life, my company, my friends and my family,” Itagaki concluded.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-02-10-sony-the-last-guardian-is-making-slow-progress

Quote
Speaking in an interview with 1Up, Yoshida confirmed that the PS3 game, which has been in development for the best part of six years, is still a priority for the publisher.

"The project has been making progress, but slow progress," he admitted.

"So that's tough, but we haven't changed any focus. It's still a really important project and a vision we want to see realised, and Fumito's vision is really causing a very difficult challenge for the developers, so there's some scrapping and rebuilding - iteration in the process. That's why [it's taking so long]."

Quote
When asked whether Ueda would be working with Sony again in the future, Yoshida replied: "If this project goes well - you know, fingers crossed - we've worked with him for a long time so yeah I certainly hope we can maintain a relationship."

http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/297260-Football-Manager-book-send-us-your-stories!

Quote
Hi,

My name's Neil White, I'm the editor at BackPage Press and this summer we will be publishing 'Football Manager Stole My Life', a book celebrating 20 years of glorious obsession.

And we need your help. Part of the book will involve your stories - not about how you won the Champions League with Fleetwood Town (nice one, though) but about how FM has broke out of the screen and into your life.

So far we have heard about:

- A recovering heart surgery patient who smuggled a lap top into the hospital ward, causing a medical emergency when his team scored a late equaliser in a derby match

- A student who tracked down his favourite non-league FM legend on social media to inform him that he was destined for the EPL and international stardom

- An FM 'intervention' when concerned flat-mates held their friend down and broke his disc after a 'lost weekend' on FM

Whatever your story, we'd love to hear it.

Please send your FM stories to footballmanager@backpagepress.co.uk

Read more about the project http://www.backpagepress.co.uk/news/...stole_my_life/

Shadows of the Damned was great and one of the most overlooked games of 2011.

NMH1 is okay, probably his only disappointing game of his I played.

Killer 7 owns my bones. Top 5 best games of last generation.

NMH2 is a better game thanks to the sweet 8-bit mini games (man the meat is genius), and no crappy overworld to drive around in. Combat was more or less the same with a couple of bells and whistles added. I still haven't beaten NMH2.

Shadows of the Damned is decent, but pretty one-note. The game never had enough variety to make it truly great. There are some great scenes and one liners. I'm expecting Lollipop Chainsaw to be on a similar tier in terms of quality. Good, but not spectacular.

Killer 7 is one of the finest games ever created, and one the few games that can truly be classified as 'art'. Flower Sun and Rain is good too if you enjoy the joke.

So I got boned by Microsoft AGAIN.

After paying yearly for Xbox live since like it first came out 7-8 years ago (so $400-500 paid to MS so far).  I finally cancelled my subscription a year and a half ago because the last time I played an Xbox game online was probably FOUR YEARS AGO when Gears of War 1/Halo 3 were out.  So I'd been giving them money for nothing and I don't feel like charity supporting MS, they do fine as it is.

After I cancelled, a few months later I found a 12 year live sub card for like $25 and there was something that I thought I would play online but never did so I bought and activated it figuring it would work for 12 months and then cancel since it was physical card based and not CC based.

Then yesterday they auto-renewed it for $50 or 60 it on my CC that was on the system because of XBLA point purchases.  Fuck.  Fuck.  Fuck.

XBL is the biggest scam there is.

Just turned-auto renewal off and there's this little message that says "if you use a pre-paid subscription code at any time, auto-renewal will be automatically turned back on"   :maf

I need to start using my Xbox to get some use of this stupid service.  I haven't even turned on my X360 and played a game since I finished RDR UR last August or September.  When's the next good multiplatform game that runs shitty on PS3 and has no PC version?

It works like Facebook. You're currently subscribed via your Credit Card.

Therefore, you can't remove the card now, and if you use a pre-paid code you get slapped back onto auto-renew. I don't know the correct term for it, but it just seems like a standard check.

If you "delete" your account on Facebook, you have to wait X days before it's fully removed. If you log back in, the deletion is stopped.

I've used pre-paid codes since over 2 years now, and I have never been put onto auto-renew. Because I waited until my subscription ran out, and I removed my card.

So stop spreading FUD, lawyer.
