Anyway, can't win for losing on this one.  Don't use the Koopa Kids, people bitch.  Use the Koopa Kids, people bitch.

there is nothing wrong with using the koopa kids but give them some flavor, make each one of them different, give them robo suits, have them unleash some mario monstruosity a-la kamek in yoshi island
giving them a rod and having them shooting at mario was okay in 1990 when gaming was still a massless form,in 2012 it just reeks of laziness

actualy speaking of laziness

did super mario 3d land had actual bosses? i know they put fight with boom boom but i have no idea about anything else

you know i have to wonder... so far they have rehashed the raccoon tail, the boo house, reznor, the koopa kids, boom boom, the airships, yoshi and small yoshi, basicaly every element introduced in SMB3 or in SMW was rehashed... for an eventual 5th NSMB game what the heck are they going to do? rehash stuff from yoshi's island?

have they gone back to the big, green shoe yet?

no actualy they still haven't done that, but there is still space in NSMBU :lol

you know i actualy like one thing they are doing with NSMB2,the fact that they are making the focus of the game "getting all the coins" kinda indicates for a NSMB game more focused on scoring and this already sort of implies a small amount of fuck given

of course then i have to heard people complain "bububububu why they didn't put wario in this instead?"

A Mario game all about scoring is a Mario I could get behind, but the gameplay footage in that video didn't even have a high score counter or anything...

Apparently the challenge is to get as many coins in a level as you can, as Reggie was talking about wringing four more coins out of a level than your buddies or whatever.

First let me tell a little about myself to save questions.

Yes I do work for retro studios.
No I don't work on the games I do administrative work and I'm not actually supposed to see the games, but we lunch together and sometimes they show me something thats cool that they are proud of. It helps that I am friends with the people that work on it ofcourse.

The new starfox focuses on flying like in starfox 64.
there are difficulty modes but not like in previous versions. You have to pick a difficulty at the beginning.
The more difficult you pick the faster you fly through the levels. So it will be more difficult to avoid hitting walls. And enemies deal more damage.

I did not see falco. And I did not see slippy either. It worried me a bit, but I didn't see krystal either.

Quote
oops forgot my tripcode

The solar system is displayed similar to starfox 64 but there is a twist. A major twist
Everytime you complete a level and move onto the next the planets/levels orbit around the sun (which I assume is a level but they didn't show me and I didn't ask about it)
So when you fly from corneria to an asteroid field, corneria and all the levels orbit in the 2 seconds it takes you to move to the next level.

What this does is it makes it very difficult to see a path to the final level. It is very hard (atleast imo) to predict what your options are until halfway through the levels.

Quote
Finally you can use the upad or the pro-controller to play the game

With the U-pad you use the gyrometer to control the craft so if you tilt right it will go right. If you have the upad turned vertically all the way you stand vertically.
You do a barrel-roll with the L or R key. I believe you shoot with the trigger buttons or one of the regular buttons (A I believe). And you shoot a bomb with the regular buttons (B).
You can boost and brake with the x and y.

In the options you can set the keys to your liking if you want to change them around, you also choose there which controller you are using.
If you use the U-pad you can choose if you want the messages of your teammates show up on the tv or on your controller. And thats where the status of your teammembers is as well.

lastly I'll stick around for a while in this thread to answer some questions that I can answer.

I'm very paranoid about getting caught

If they're so paranoid about being caught, they probably shouldn't mention what their role is at Retro, or what their relationship with the developers is.  :lol

My Tron 360 controller's x button now stays down after I press it unless I hold the thing sideways or upside down. A button is starting to stick now too. Any way of fixing this situation or do I need to retire the thing and go back to a regular pad? Don't wanna do that since it's so fuckin' cool looking.

League of Legends is an easier and more accessible game, but has a worse business model.  You have to buy individual characters (and stat increasing runes) in League, whereas the entire character pool is free in Dota (plus you can get :hyper HATS :hyper to drop).  If you are brand new to MOBAs I would recommend LoL and suggest Dota later on if you get bored or want something more challenging.

Both games have absolutely putrid communities that will constantly bitch at you for making the slightest mistake.  Thankfully, they both have bot matches where you can play against the AI and people generally less critical there.

I don't play League any more (primarily due to the endless grinding) but if you want advice or shit I'm usually on Steam.  (same user ID as here)

I've been playing the same game of Civ II for 10 years. Though long outdated, I grew fascinated with this particular game because by the time Civ III was released, I was already well into the distant future. I then thought that it might be interesting to see just how far into the future I could get and see what the ramifications would be. Naturally I play other games and have a life, but I often return to this game when I'm not doing anything and carry on. The results are as follows:

-The world is a hellish nightmare of suffering and devastation.

-There are 3 remaining super nations in the year 3991 A.D, each competing for the scant resources left on the planet after dozens of nuclear wars have rendered vast swaths of the world uninhabitable wastelands.

it's one thing to looks like an 8-bit game and another to have a background that is "the color brown" or having no enemies, another alarm of "amateurishness" is being a 2D sidescrollers, that shit is everywhere, you never see an indie racing game or an indie strategy game or an indie puzzle game

that would be like if they put both super mario lands games, super mario world and super mario 64 back when they re-released super mario all-stars,i guess nintendo knews which one of their IP they can doze on :smug
