He apparently showed up to camp in shape, was a long shot to make the rotation and beat out all the young kids. He absolutely handled the Yankees' lineup the other week. If he can chew up innings until Strasburg, Wang and Zimmermann are ready, I'm all for it.

Dusty started Hernandez and he gave up every single run the Angels got in that game. Then he put in Rueter, who didn't give up a single run. If he started Rueter instead of that distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Hernandez, the Giants would've won.

Yeah, even the Phillies brutal beating of the Nationals' bullpen took just three hours. I'm with you on this one.

There were some positives from the game. Neyjer Morgan is legit and Riggleman is going to pay for his roster blunders. The two young guys (English and Burnett) that barely made the roster deserve to be there, and Bergmann (who should have been released) is going to pitch himself out of a job. Also, why they put Storen in the minors when it's obvious that Bruney and Capps are not the answer is beyond me. If it was just a money decision, by trying to delay his free agency, then that's kind of lame.

Call up Storen and Olsen. Cut Bergmann and Mock.

Also, Pudge is not going to last past the All-Star break if Jesus Flores' rehab doesn't get sped up. And Willie Harris is an awful RF.

The Nationals' embarrassing situation with Phillies fans running amok at Nationals Park on Opening Day is the featured story on Yahoo.

I cannot tell you how upset local fans are; this was also one of the featured stories over at The Washington Post. Apparently quite a few season ticket holders are calling it quits after this incident.

I don't know if Kasten can hold out Strasburg for much longer, unless he wants to completely chase off the fanbase.

I heard about this on the ESPN Radio this morning. The worst part is that the Nats ticket reps actually called Phillies fans to beg them to buy the tickets.

Yeah, pretty ridiculous.

Just came back from Nationals Park, and I've been to half of the parks in the major league - and nobody touches Nationals Park in terms of food. Say what you want about the team, but at least you can buy good food, overpriced beer and play video games for free.

Had so much fun, the last inning was a duel between Nats and Phillies fans. So glad we got the win. The top of that order is legit, but man does the team need an answer in RF and 2B (sorry, Adam Kennedy is not cutting it). Not to mention half the rotation is pitching themselves out of a job, which makes the transition to Storen, Strasburg, Olsen, Detwiler (the other draft pick people forgot!), Zimmermann and Wang all that easier to deal with.

EDIT: Guzman spelled Desmond today, which was kind of a bummer for me. But I got to see Dezy pinch hit and he almost sent in another run, if it wasn't for an amazing play by Jimmy Rollins.

2010 is really going to test the bandwagon jumping poser fans in LA. The Lakers suck, the Dodgers suck, and the Angels are sucking. Not even the 1st anniversary of Adenharts death could rally the Angels to a win since they traded off their big guns and Hunter is left trying to carry the team. Will there be a rush of Hockey posers while the Kings are in the playoffs? Well the local "Lids" stores are stocked up with Kings 59/50 caps in all the popular thug styles.

It's generally accepted that the Lakers will be wiped out early in the playoffs since they're playing like old men this year. It's nowhere like last year.

Neither LA team won't even make it to the wildcard.

Again, the Kings are the best thing going for LA sports this year. The Ducks are fucking embarrasing.

It's sad that people are looking forward to the Angels-As series in Anaheim to see the As play.

And the Dodgers need to get Manny back on the roids. They won tonight out of dumb luck.

I have a difficult time sitting through baseball games. I only went because a friend of mine made the proposition to me while I was obscenely intoxicated and I of course thought it was a brilliant idea at the time. People shouldn't be allowed to do stuff like that.
