So I've been listening between self-titled, G-Sides and Demon Days lately.

G-Sides is easily the best Gorillaz album. The EP format benefits the album greatly because one common problem with Gorillaz albums is that they are overly long, typically over 15 tracks. I'm of the opinion that lean albums are better. self-titled and Demon Days, although awesome, have a shit ton of filler and average tracks. G-Sides is awesome from beginning to end.

I haven't listened to all of their new album yet, but I like what I've heard. Here's hoping it's a more consistent album than their previous LPs. Because if it is and it's nearly as good as G-Sides, this will be album of the year material.

PD sux, this is hawt. No Demon Days, but it still has plenty of good tracks. Rhinestone Eyes, Stylo, Empire Ants, Some Kind of Nature, Plastic Beach, To Binge, and Cloud of Unknowing are my favorites. Only songs I can't sit through are are White Flag (cuz of the guest spots; grime is for feggits), Glitter Freeze (boring centerpiece and a waste of Mark E. Smith), and Sweepstakes.

The whole album makes me want to get stoned out of my mind and drive around aimlessly lol

If that doesn't qualify as filler, it's only because there's nothing to fill in around, save for maybe "Ghost Train". It's a compilation of leftover filler! And I don't particularly care for any of the remixes.

I don't want to skip anything in G-Sides.

And I must say, I'm not big on the rap heavy tracks in Gorillaz albums aside from Clint Eastwood because of Del. I even don't like the song in Demon Days that has MF Doom on it.

I think the nature of this sort of collaborative project lends itself to filler. I suppose that when you get a bunch of musicians and artists that you personally respect together to appear on your album, it's difficult to reject the stuff they're featured on, even if it's bad.

Glitter Freeze isn't a great track, but it has fucking Mark E. Smith on it; if you're Damon Albarn or any other fan of The Fall, you're probably not gonna scrap it regardless.

Then again, that doesn't explain White Light, so what do I know?

I meant White Light on Demon Days, which is inarguably the most skippable track on that album and isn't a collaborative effort.

I really like Welcome to the World of Plastic Beach even if Snoop is totally phoning it in. The production on that track is particularly well done.

White Flag is alright. I dig the strings, but the rapping is pretty bad.

Songs I like:

- Welcome to the World (please supply an instrumental without Snoop rapping, please)
- White Flag (nice bongo, strings, and general instrumentation but the rapping sucks balls, please give us an instrumental!)

Songs like Cloud of Unknowing, Pirate Jet, Sweepstakes, Some Kind of Nature, On Melancholy Hill add nothing to the album, and in fact, I'm of the opinion that Pirate Jet and Cloud of Unknowing are the worst possible ways period to end the album.

A lot of tracks are good but their order could be better. For instance. Rhinestone Eyes would benefit being right after Welcome to the World, and The Binge would be the best overall track to end the album and then let Pirate's Progress finalize the album. Considering Pirate's Progress is only on the Japanese version of the album apparently, I can't IMAGINE Pirate Jet being this album's "official' end track. It's too forgettable.

If you condensed the album to the songs I listed in the love category, this album would really benefit.

Also, I love White Light.

Can't say I liked the rapping on this album in general. De La's song is lack luster to me, the British rappers sound too corny for me, and then there's Snoop eh. Danger Mouse's absence is disappointing.

Well, Gorillaz in general has influences all over the map from hip hop to electronic, rock and even dub (reggae).
