What is a good itunes replacement for windows 7?
« on: March 03, 2010, 04:19:44 PM »
Earlier I realized I didn't install any software to put songs onto my ipod(s), and since this is a clean install, I don't want that itunes/quicktime trash to ruin everything.  All I'm looking for is software that lets me add/remove songs from my ipod touch and ipod nano, like drag and drop, no syncing.  I use WMP12 or winamp for music playing.

I know for a fact Winamp has drag-and-drop support for iPods, but I'm not sure if players like foobar and MediaMonkey are capable of anything other than basic syncing

Nothing.

The ipod touch is some crazy beast that can only be tamed by itunes. None of the plug ins for WMP/Winamp/Foobar/Songbird ever worked with my touch.

thanks.  I'll check out the winamp one so I can at least manage music on my nano.

I think I still have itunes installed on an old xp laptop.  I'll use that for the touch until there is a proper solution.

itunes on osx :smug

osx? is that a type of ram?

HAHA I didn't see the "Touch" part. I guess the real solution is to get an mp3 player that isn't an overpriced turd :smug

I bought an ipod touch because I thought it would be cool to play games and have apps.

What a mistake  :-\

I got one as a gift and I'm thinking of selling it because all it does is allow me to wallow in bed while checking out a few internet sites of interest. I really don't use it for anything else.

I bought and ipod touch because I was jazzed about the iphone but didn't want to pay the insane cost of owning one (I mean more than the money), so when the touch was announced, I ordered it to spite the iphone...it made sense in my head (not really) at least I can play some games on it and watch videos!  :-\

I just realized I've never watched a video on it and only really used it as an mp3 player when my ipod nano's battery died before a trip.  Luckily my nano's battery was replaced for free and I'm back to using it 98% of the time.  The thing still barely holds a charge, though.  It's like you can only keep it on stand-by instead of turning it off.
