Yeah, the JP rom had that problem too.  Guess you will have to wait until your physical copy arrives.

EDIT: ok so impressions

- the opinion expressed in this game aren't those of atlus employe... blablabla seriously is there any need for this shit other so than a random reviewer can claim that the game has "A MATOOR STORY"
- intro starts up... "EARTH IS A PLANET" no? really? i guess that going by the previous message atlus has a different definition of earth
- humanity is evil, everybody is going to die, that's the gist of it
- this commander guy simply won't shut up
- in fact it takes a good 30 minutes before the intro is over and you can put the first steps on the first dungeon
- aaaaaaaaaaaand i like this! it's like someone meshed up nocturne with the good bits of etrian odyssey, there are monsters drop that you can use to buy new equipment and that equipment change your skills and resistance arounds and the demon fusion system is identical to nocturne which is how it should work in the first place,i like the followup idea much more than the rush system of persona, first it force you to have specific party setup to really take advantage of it,and seconds you don't end up doing more damage with the followup than with the normal attack so it's not like you end up killing everyone as soon as you hit the weakness of something

I'm wondering how this matches up against EO, aka the Real Deal. I've got a friend who's a die hard fan and I'd like to recommend him something other than waiting for the eventual EO3 translation.

It is far better than EO.

*No lolis
*Far more customization
*The annoying bits from EO (mapping and tradeskilling) are streamlined

:lol @ everyone here who says MMO's arent games but loves some grinding in single player games

I don't have to interact with people when playing SJ so it is better by default.

anyway i too thinks it's better than EO but it's more because i dislike EO job system and how some jobs make or break the game
here it's like "the boss is weak to lighting? let me make some lighting demon and get some nice lighting equipment" and it's good this way!

Played a couple hours of this, it's great so far but I don't like this co-op attack system. I recruited a demon that has a different alignment than me and the rest of my team and he's essentially nothing but a weak meatshield. Is there any reason to use demons of different alignments? I guess you could have two teams of two in your party, but is that better than having four of the same? I'd think not, but what do I know - I'm only two hours in.

Demon co op is a pretty massive downgrade from press turn.  Honestly I just ignore it and focus on the most powerful demons regardless of alignment.

Yeah.

Coop is good for the first half of the game because of the extra damage.  But once you hit the moment and get into the real fights, it's better to just have the strongest demons with the best skills than worry about alignment.  Every once and a while you'll still get lucky and it'll just happen that the strongest demons at the moment are all in your alignment and you'll be doing super damage, but don't depend on it in the 2nd half of the game.

No.  Devil Survivor's system was closer to press turn.  SJ's system works like this:

My character is law
I have 2 law demons and a chaos demon in my party
I hit an enemy that exploits a weakness
My two law demons do an extra attack and the chaos demon sits on his ass

fwiw I went neutral in this game.  It's the hardest route but I couldn't really agree with either law or chaos philosophies.
If you go neutral expect one hell of a last boss set.

i like demon co-op,it forces particular setup,it helps you but it doesn't win you fight straight away, anyway i was thinking of going neutral too because 1) yay challenge! 2) i bet both sides turns out to be jerks as usual

don't you spend like a little fortune summoning a demon like that?
(tough now that i think about it... is it just me or money is ultra easy to find? i fought some special demon and they always drop an item i can sell for 3000$ that's an insane amount of money considering it barely takes any effort to take down those guys)

yea i just did it the hard way and my compendium entry is around 6000 too, this system kinda makes me angry,i mean what stops me from using a password for a low level demon with high skills like megido? why bother hunting all the ingredient for the special fusion when you can just get them via password? heck why bother with special summoning at all when you can buy the thing directly?

it just seems like a cheap and not very well tought way to add a pointless comunity aspect to the game, kinda like that stupid mail system from ff3 remake

but anyway i finaly finished sector B,was the place ever labyrinthic! the boss went down without much trouble, cheap instant death spells aside, the thing that hurt him the most and that dealt the final blow?

Hey Bebpo I have a question:

I changed my mind and am going to try to go neutral.  The only problem is that I am law right now.  Can I answer a few questions with the chaos response and correct it so I can follow the neutral path at the endgame?

You change back and forth pretty easily.  There are A LOT of questions later on and it gets hard to tell which answer goes to what.  When I fell into neutral around halfway it wasn't even on purpose.  I was doing a law playthrough but somehow I ended up in neutral ^^;  I think I went back to law at some point for a few hours but then fell back to neutral and by that point I had decided story-wise I wanted neutral and just choose the answers that didn't agree with either side.

As for password summoning.  The main downpoint is definitely the cost.  I never used the password system for the simple fact that I saw how long the damn things were I was like fuck that I am too lazy to input codes that long into my DS!  It wasn't too much of a problem, I was able to get everyone I wanted and fill most of my book.
