The thing about Predator 2 is that it had the same writers as the ones who did the first one, so it was consistent with everything that happened in the first movie. I liked it a lot too, except for fuckin' Gary Busey.

Then of course, when they did Aliens Vs. Predator, everything that the writers had built up in the first two movies went to shit - the whole thing about the Predators showing up only during major heat waves (indicating the environment they're most comfortable in, and what their planet is probably like)...thrown out the window, they suddenly have a fuckin' ancient base in the middle of a frozen wasteland.

Yes, AVP messed things up. Why not just take the comic story and bring it over wholesale? But no. "Hey, not only are Predators fond of hanging out in Antarctica, but we've actually had ALIENS on Earth all this time as well! WHO KNEW?" It's as lame as the opening of Aliens^3, where it not only craps its own bed, but tries its best to destroy the entire point of the preceding superior movie ALIENS by whacking Hicks and Newt while they're asleep. WTF.

I personally couldn't say I liked it more than the first, but as a sequel I thought it worked perfectly fine and wasn't disappointed. But then I haven't seen it since it was in the theatres.

all of these movies are pretty stupid at their core, so i just overlook any inconsistencies and enjoy the despinalizations (this is now a word, i declare it)

i liked predator 2 better just because it's so completely bugfuck over the top

although no one can really top bill duke in the first one

Predator 2 is in no freaking way better then the first, but its a pretty decent to good movie that follows up a classic, there was no way it could be better.

I thought it was great to see Danny Glover finally get a (and so far, seemingly only) starring vehicle, I love the shit outta Obnoxious Paxton roles, the latino chick is hotter then a boiling tea kettle, the expanded Predator gadgets of death are pretty awesome, and its very often kinda funny, funny on purpose even.

Its not masterpiece by any means, and looks kinda shite next to its predacessor, but compared to the AVP movies, its gol-dern gold plated.

Maria Conchita Alonso had a very hot role immediately preceding Predator 2. IIRC it was against Michael Keaton, and it may have involved hockey. I had serious boners for her because of that movie, and when I heard she was going to be in Predator 2, I was convinced this was her big break and we'd be seeing a lot more of her. And then it turned out she couldn't act. At all.

The under-30 and over-50 Korean women here look so completely different it's like they're separate species.

Part of that is because the older generation grew up with a lot more hardships than today's generation, but it's still a ridiculous difference. I've seen a few attractive Korean women in their 50's (usually the wealthier ones), but it's pretty rare.
