UK's one game out from the Final Four.

However, when I was watching the game, I was much more interested in the Xavier/Kansas St. game. One of the better college basketball games of all fucking time.

I fucking love this month. Best tournament ever. I've been watching regularly since 1995 and it really doesn't get any better than this.

Cornell hasn't had any suicides since 2005 until this latest spate.

My sister says its incredibly stressful, and that the last two students to jump with engineering majors - the hardest major on campus. She says she hardly ever sees the engineering and architecture majors leave their dorms.

I was rooting for Xavier during that game against K-State. I hope they went home with their heads held high. They played a hell of a game.

For all you UK haters out there, watch closely tomorrow. This is going to be a big one. I hear that WVU is getting all sorts of riled up for it. I will be at work unfortunately... for my patients cause I'm not helping a single damn person while the game is on!

Duke is only alive because they were put in the weakest bracket. Normally I don't give much credence to conspiracy bullshit but come on: Kansas should have been in that bracket.

They had a luckier draw, but given how this tournament has played out there is no "easy draw". Almost any team in the top 40 can beat each other on any given night. You still have to take care of business. If Coach K can do that for every game, then you have to tip your hat to the guy.

Duke's bracket has basically been the only bracket devoid of upsets (save for #10 over #2.)

Duke's road has been more than sufficiently difficult, playing a 9, a 4 and now a 3.

2008 was the year every #1 seed made the Final Four, which I believe was a first. Could this be the year that no #1 makes the Final Four? Would that also be a first?

Oh, and Duke can officially thumb their noses at the people (basically everybody, yours truly included) that said they'd be the first #1 out. Whatever happens tomorrow, they're the last 1 standing, "weak" bracket notwithstanding.

Other than the last two K-bore'ers (that doesn't sound right, does it?) that popped in...

Kentucky played like shit last night and they deserved to lose. They flopped because they decided to put out some of their worst players and changed up their shooting style in a last minute decision. Calipari needed to get out there and light a fire under their asses and kick a few of them off the damn court. You just don't make big changes like that in the fucking NCAA Tournament. That's what the regular season is for.

All in all, UK had a good season and kept me on the edge of my seat a few times more than I would have liked. I think I'll root for Tennessee for the rest of the tournament, and when they lose today, I don't know who I'll look up to...

Scheyer and especially Smith had a good game. Singler, not so much. If all three of them get on target in a single game, watch out.

Thomas made a couple of big rebounding plays in the second half, although I continue to throw up my hands in exasperation every time he pump fakes into a blocked shot which is pretty much 5 out of 6 times he tries to shoot the ball. Hey, Lance: rebound, d-up, don't shoot.

I don't know about "in the bag." Butlet has been some quality competition in this tournament, they'll have the confidence to go against Duke. It comes down to whether or not Duke's "big 3" can be as effective as they were against the Mountaineers and also if Zoubek can stay out of foul trouble. Duke can outsize Butler, certainly, but the Plumlees are not as good on the offensive glass as Zoubek. It's a tradeoff, with the Plumlees, you can perhaps get more offense out of the low post. But with Zoubek, you'll get more offensive opportunities overall. Which, again, brings the big 3 back into the picture: can they put two great games together in a row?

MSU...wow. I really thought things were being handed to them once the 1 seeds started falling. They had such a clear path - that's not to belittle their accomplishments but they daamn. I think they would have matched up well with Duke, and it would be great to see Izzo once again confirm he's the best coach in the country.

Butler played their hearts out. They really, really did. But Duke made just enough plays, just barely enough.

But Duke won. I didn't think it was possible this year, but Duke freaking won.

Duke had some opportunities to stretch the lead, but they didn't. Butler played really, really hard. It is so cliche to say both teams deserved to win, and I won't. But Butler left it all on the court.
