apparently they plan to add 100s of arcade games to this games room thing. like if they add more modern games (like stuff from 1989+ at least) it will be a fucking winner. of course they can add more achievements too!

Im interested in these "medals", Im assuming the games will have their own achievements which you earn medals for instead of gamerscore. Kinda makes sense to do it like that.

Only Atari and Intellivision were announced, maybe Konami, I'm not sure about that one. I just hope WB Games signs on so they can put the Midway back catalog on there, along with Sega, Namco, Taito, etc. etc.

I suspect someone has already done a cost-analysis of how much money they can make by putting the Midway games up vs. the legal costs of establishing where the publishing rights lay... and come up heavily in the negative column.

Actually, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment picked up most of the Midway IPs in the bankruptcy proceedings, not just Mortal Kombat. The exceptions were the licensed sports titles, for obvious reasons, and the Cruis'n trilogy, whose rights are actually owned by Nintendo. Trust me, I asked around, so I know.

MS didnt put up enough servers, lol.

Do this-

1. Sign in
2. Load Game Room and press start.
3. When Loading hangs, press Guide, press X to sign out.
4. Remove network cable/usb for Wifi.
5. Sign in with profile.
6. Press Start and press B when it says you must be signed in XBL to use all features.
7. Room loaded, it asks you if you want to sign into XBL to get most of features (Note this is the second time its asked you). Attach Wifi/Network cable and wait till you get the green light (On Wifi).
8. Connect to Live.
9. Play.

What was the point of making this place laid out like a 'real arcade' if you have to go into an abstract menu to buy one play session? They should let you place all of the arcade cabinets from the free game pack and let you rent/buy them right from the game environment.

You get tokens when a friend visits your arcade. I wonder if you could just keep swapping back and forth to get shittons of tokens, and then use those tokens to get free plays of games to earn medals/achievements without paying any money.

Some of it is crazy neat, like being able to rewind the mistakes you just made, and playing through them. The arcade coin-op machines are lovely; Tempest's sent me down nostalgia lane.

I tried to buy a game through the store, and it didn't register. Mashing on "BUY" "BUY" "BUY" but no effect. No XBL Purchase blade, no sound effect, nothing. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I spent 5 tokens to try Shao-Lin Road thinking I would get the achievmeent for playing someone else's cabinet.

I annihilated their score, and still had room to keep going. But the game shut down and booted me!

Ugh! I guess you really do have to own a cabinet in order to get achievements for them.

Speaking of, Shao-Lin Road is awesome. And Finalizer. I would buy those for sure.

Downloaded Game Room. Went to friends list in it. It immediately hard crashed the 360.

Edit: On second inspection it didn't hard crash it. It just completely froze it for a minute until a content pack downloaded.

Im guessing that file size is actually the whole game pack, so mascots, games and stuff cant exist outside their game pack. I can see this being problematic as I only have a 20 gig HD. Road to Shaolin was apparently 65MB but popped straight away when I hit buy so yeah
