I kind of want to pick up a MLB title, but MLB 2K9 was a train wreck from all reports. Is 2K10 any different?

Is Powerslave a better poster since he came back?

I traded in some stuff and bought it today. I can confirm that it is actually competent. It's not as good as MLB The Show, but it's not a mess. Also, the Strasburg that I have created is AWESOME, although he got shelled by the Phillies in his first outing.

My brother has a PS3 so I did a gamefly for him and rented MLB the Show 10 and brought it over since we are both into sports games but he generally is a few years behind on buying the latest stuff. You know I wasn't as blown away by it as the reviews and forum impressions seem to generally make out. There is a lot of weird animation glitchy stuff in that game. I also felt like a lot of it played like it was on auto-pilot. This is of course very brief impressions after only 2 or 3 games but I wasn't nearly as impressed as I thought I was going to be.

Graphically it does look pretty nice though.

Just got 2K10. Played about three innings and I'm used to the pitching now. Much better than last year.

I also like the player models more than The Show. The Show players look too much like plastic action figures. The texturing here is much better. Crowds in the Show are better though.

Yeah, it's a lot better than last year. I'm still prefer buttons to gestures, though.

After letting my brother hold my rented copy of the show for about 2 weeks, he never really got into it for whatever reason. I found the hitting to be a bit frustrating myself. I'll eventually get around to renting MLB 2k10 and see what we think about that.

I found the demo for it (MLB 2k10 I mean) confusing having to make all those gesture pitches but I really didn't put a lot of time into it.

I didn't like pitching at first, but I've played a few games (both on 360 and PC using the same controller) and I actually like it a lot now.

And holy shiiiit the PC version looks nice. Even the crowd looks better.

Played a couple more games, one on PC and one on 360 and I really don't see what the bitching is all about. Maybe because it doesn't have "MLB THE SHOW" on the box? In fact, despite the gesture pitching; the game feels A LOT like MVP, which puts it above The Show IMO.

Ran into a game ending bug. Basically I skipped a replay of a base hit and then the game hung with the previous batter in the box and I couldn't go on. Didn't mind because I was losing but it's annoying.
