ok, finally bothered to try out google chrome (i fear change, despite my socialist political leanings) and am loving it. one question- is there an ad-block extension? anything else cool i should know about?

I never tried Chrome.. I didn't like the screenshots so I just stuck with Firefox. I guess I'll try it out at least.

I never tried any extensions before and now I picked up 18 of them after an hour of browsing. hell, I even got one that limits time on useless sites.

It does seem to be a post-modern expression of our reliance more on technology than the physical world. Perhaps, one day we can see extensions that throw huge real-time pictures of shit on your wall or even a filter to drunkify your emails? It's potentially amazing how arty something useless can be.

Has anyone tried Chrome 5 in the Dev channel?

It has actually made me like Chrome less because it integrates with Windows 7 more.

I know that sounds goofy, but now Chrome acts like IE in Windows 7. Each tab, regardless of which window it's in, appears as a separate window in the Window preview if you hover your mouse over the Chrome icon in the taskbar.

This just annoys the piss out of me. While I love the window preview, I often have a bajillion tabs open, with different 'kinds' of tabs in different windows (i.e, I may have work related tabs in one window, and tabs for shitting around at work in another window). Chrome 4, with its lack of Window 7 support, was wonderful. I was able to look at a the preview and get 2-3 easy choices. Now I get a jumbled mess to look through, across each open window.

AND what happens when I have incognito windows open? I don't always want those previewed, if you get what I'm saying. I had a clever method previously of having a 'dummy' tab be the active tab in my incognito window, so that you wouldn't see the other tabs if you just happened to hover over the link at a bad time.

I don't like tab = taskbar window either. I usually have a few hundred tabs open at any given time, and tend to separate them into windows by category or task. Hope it's at least an option to turn it off.
