I thought Panty Stocking was a lame show, but I know I'm in the minority there so you guys can continue fapping. The music montages were about 10x better then every other scene in the show. Why? Because the dialogue is fucking awful, the "stories" are stupid, and the characters are all 1 dimensional. The Garterbelt flashback story was probably the best part in the entire show. They should have done P&S as a music video dvd like Gurren Parallel Works instead of as a TV show. The animation and art is fantastic, but the show is just mediocre as hell. All the cursing, sperm, feces, piss, puke seemed to have no point but to try to be COOL OFFENSIVE. Basically felt like a show written by a jr. high school thug whose trying to rebel. I find the show more embarrassing to anime than most of the moe/harem genre.
My favorite show this season is Star Driver. Once you get past that it's an episodic monster of the week show, it's really nicely done. Good Bones shows always feel like high-class anime. The script, the direction, the acting, the music, it's all at a level above your common anime. The show can be about a trash can, but if it's done by good Bones it will be presented so well that it becomes an engaging anime classic about that trash can. I can't wait for Star Driver to be in Super Robot Wars. Tauburn has some awesome attacks already and some of the enemy mechs are neat looking with cool attacks.
2nd favorite show is Soredemo Machi wa Matteru. It's really well directed with great comic writing & timing and the characters are very likeable. It's funny because the cover image makes it seem like it's this harem fetish show about maids like every other fetish anime out there, but then you watch it and realize the maid stuff has nothing to do with the show besides being a setting for their part-time job.
Otherwise, everything else this season is ok/bad. Ore Imouto ended with a complete non-ending. There will be a few more eps on the dvd/blu-ray but who knows if they'll actually make a conclusion. When you adapt a running manga, you're supposed to find a stopping point and change it a bit to make it feel like a satisfying ending with room to continue like how Berserk, Beck, and countless other manga adaptions have. Ore Imouto anime was entertaining, but exactly nothing happened the entire plot and in the end it was a completely pointless show that gave minor insight on a niche area of Japan, but didn't really go far enough with it (and the ep where sister girl writes a hentai novel and it gets made into an anime was done so poorly and quickly it felt completely unbelievable whereas it could've been an interesting look at how anime adaptations are made and how much input the original author retains).
But Tatami Galaxy was about 10x better than all of those, so it's still the best show of 2010.
