It's the best Onii-chan show this season, but that doesn't mean it's anything other than an utter abomination.

It's a vast improvement from their designs in the manga though. And it seems they get a bit more normal-looking with each episode.

Glad to be here. Although it took me almost a year... the screening process in this place sure is brutal.  :'(

All the recent news about the disaster and nuclear worries reminded me of Coppelion, so I went and caught up on that. It's a pretty good manga/soon-to-be-anime series about genetically-engineered high school girls (I know, original) tasked with dealing with the aftermath of nuclear meltdown in Tokyo.

Although I wonder now if both are going to be put on hold due to recent events.  :(

Coppelion's pretty good, it would be disappointing if the anime got cancelled. I mean, I'd understand it if they did and not complain, but it's got the potential to be a good series and it's certainly more relevant now than ever. We'll just have to wait and see how things go between now and the Fall season.

Nothing's been said about it officially, just fan speculation. It's still seven months until the scheduled air date, so there's a lot that can change between now and then.

And it's not just the new episode of Madoka that got delayed, all anime broadcasts from CBC, MBS, and TBS have been pushed back.

You're going to be lucky if any of the currently airing shows get endings before dvd release.

Japan timeslots are strict and the next shows have already booked their ep1 slots in a month.  Final eps may have to be shown through internet streams or just held off until final dvd release 6 months later.  :X

It's possible for shows with stations that have delayed airings like 1 or 2 weeks behind. Hopefully by next week things can be roughly normal and the shows will resume airing.

The latest I've heard (not officially announced) based on the Syoboi Calendar database site, is that Madoka wil not air next week either. But ep11 will air on 31st March on MBS, and ep12 will air on 7th April on MBS. A two week delay doesn't sound that bad...

Wait, then it'd just be Eureka 7

K-on!! 27 dvd special was nice.  Not a particular great ep, but it's just nice to have some more k-on.  Very nostalgic and makes you remember how fun the show was.  Like a lot of the non-great k-on eps it's kind of slow and boring but likeable and funny at the same time.  Seems like the ep was setting up the upcoming movie, which could be alright though it'll just be a filler movie.  Gotta wait a few more years for the next real k-on season.  Hope it's not too far away.

I will get to 27 eventually.  I know I said this months ago, but I enjoyed the first season of K-On!! and wound up fizzling out on it halfway through the second season.  I don't even remember which episode I stopped at.

A good villain is a little creepy, but the villain in Fractale is creepy like your neighbor staring through your window at night. A good villain also needs to be able to be taken seriously, which the villain in Fractale can't be. He's Snidely Whiplash without the mustache, evil simply because the show's got to have a villain. He's also crazy, but not crazy enough to be fun [The Joker], only enough to be obnoxious.

Gargolye in Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water was great. Delphine from Last Exile was closer to the Fractale school of villainry, but at least she could be taken seriously and was the proper sort of menacing. Fractle, which seems to want to be a bit of both, fails to meet the standard in this regard.

There's a plot in there somewhere, but they keep skirting the edge of it. And that's another problem with modern anime, they spend too many episodes slowly plodding along, hinting at a real plot, and then rapidly trying to tie everything up in the last two episodes.

Star Driver is getting interesting.

I still can't tell if the plot is just smarter than me and I'd understand it better on 2nd viewing with some explanation or if the characters are Tomino random and the plot is "you gotta be high and then it makes sense".  Utena felt the same way.  I still have no idea what the plot was  :lol

Regardless of the sense or non-sensibility of the plot, I'm still really enjoying it as it's well made.  Can't wait to see the last few eps.

Hi,

I’m sure my request is going to be outrightly denied, but I thought there would be no harm in trying. I am contacting you today [...] because I wish that the hentai pictures of the character Aisaka Taiga, form the series Toradora!, would be removed from your site.

I know that this sounds like a foolish request, and there is no gain for you, but it is something that is very important to me.

I am not someone that frequents your website, so you may be thinking that my opinion is of no importance, and you may be wondering why I care, if I don’t see it, it shouldn’t affect me, right?

I care because i really, truly, love Taiga, and seeing people draw her like this pains me. It is not right, it corrupts her image, it’s not in her character, it doesn’t make sense, why would someone want to see such a precious girl like Taiga do these hentai things?

I know that many people do like that sort of thing, in fact, more people like it than are against it, and why would you run a site like sankakucomplex if you were against such things?
All I can do is ask you, beg you, to remove them. Although there is no benefit to you and your website, i beg you to remove the hentai picture/drawings/art of Aisaka Taiga, as a favour to me.

All I can do in return is be eternally grateful, and wow….. is that an amazing reward or what? Having someone you will most likely never meat, and who doesn’t visit your site, eternally grateful.

I know that the reward is not nearly equal to the action that I am asking you to do. Please, I ask you, person to person, I ask you to do a favour for a stranger. Please get back to me preceding the decision.

B-But, Mr. Yamakan says the series is a masterpiece in the vein of Miyazaki and if it flops then all hope is lost for the anime industry as it is a sign that it has finally been overrun by horrible moe-loving otaku!

Even though I like Fractale too, it's not really anything special.

Finally caught up on everything currently airing (outside of Wandering Son 10+11 which just aired).  Level E is still SO GOOD; any ep with color rangers is gold.  I think Level E at this point is better than HxH tbh :P  Craft is like:
comedy hour

Madoka is still great, Wandering Son is still fantastic although it sucks to hear about what happened to the end.  Not only do Noitamina shows have serious structuring problems sine they're limited to 11eps max, but because of the missed week earlier in the season they ran out of room to do even the 11eps and so they cut down and edited ep10 & 11 into a combined summary ep called 10+11 that just aired as the last tv ep :(  Will have to wait six months for the dvds.

SRW OGs is still iffy on the animation quality, but it's been a really faithful good adaptation of a good mecha story, so as a SRW fan I'm pretty happy with it.  Will get me pumped for OG3 announcement later this year.

and Fractale is Fractale, Gosick is gosick, and Star Driver is still fun.  Everything I'm watching ends this week or next week or the week after except Gosick.  And since next season looks pretty barren I'll probably use the free time to catch up on some of my older show backlog, like watching the 2nd season of Durarara

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Blood so even with Clamp I don't really care about this.  Seems like IG trying to milk the only sorta-popular franchise they have anymore (well besides GiTS).

I watched the original OAV when it came out and ep1 of the new TV show but that was about it.  Honestly it's kind of a boring premise for anything longer than an OAV or 2 hour movie; school girl fights monsters with a samurai sword; zzz

Seems like IG trying to milk the only sorta-popular franchise they have anymore (well besides GiTS).

So when will Production IG get back to milking GiTS?

Wandering Son 10/11: Hate how they cut this one up, but oh well. Anna finally bailed, guess that's the end of that. :'(

Yumekui Merry 11: I'm convinced J.C. Staff are masters of needlessly extending series. I can't recall another show in recent memory where nothing has  happened in so long. The fight they've been building up was alluded to like 5 episodes ago, and they still haven't gotten anywhere.

Gosick 09/10: I like how they insert these little mysteries in between arcs. Seems to be a way for Bones to tie up loose ends that were left out from the arcs that were in the original novels.

They're already on it with the upcoming 3D version of Solid State Society.

I hope everyone in Japan goes to see it, maybe it'll convince IG to do another season of the series.

Still holding out on Gundam UC vol. 3 until my Blu-ray copy shows up in the mail... too bad I'll be in Europe so I'll have to wait even longer.
