Save our Street Fighter (SOS)
« on: December 19, 2006, 11:42:32 AM »
So the latest BC update for X360 was actually decent.  We got Soul Calibur 2 and Inidgo Prophecy and Psychonauts.

It seems the BC team at MS does listen to fan requests.  So lets start requesting Street Fighter 3 (Street Fighter Anniversary Collection).

Why?

Well, it's the best SF ever.  And it's got Xbox Live support.  :)

So email a request for SF Anniversary Collection to backcomp@microsoft.com !!

If we get enough emails going, maybe we can get this and other awesome 2D games from the Xbox1 playable on the 360.

The BC list is just baffling. I think they managed to BC every bad game before moving on to good games. They can argue about such and such being easier to BC, but while they were making games no one gives a shit about BC, they've wasted time they coulda spent making the GOOD games BC.

GOD DAMNIT.

Please make Street Fighter Anniversary Collection compatible with Xbox 360

Hello.

I greatly enjoy Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and would appreciate it if you could make this great game compatible with the Xbox 360. This game is still a tremendous amount of fun when played on Xbox live.

Thank you for your time in this matter.

Yes.  That's why it would be awesome to have it on the 360, and all the other Xbox fighters with online play for that matter, supported.

It has online and the online code is much better than the XBLA SF2' Hyper Fighting.

Also it supported 480p and was the best looking SF3 on a HDTV.  :)

On 360, it would support custom sound tracks through the BC custom sound track work around.  :)

I see, weird that they didn't do it already.  I'd think that this isn't too hard to emulate in comparison to other xbox 1 games.

I see, weird that they didn't do it already.  I'd think that this isn't too hard to emulate in comparison to other xbox 1 games.

Three possibilities:

1.  All the 2D games, since they're based on PS2 code, use some kind of funky engine/coding that makes them surprisingly hard to emulate.  I think this is fairly unlikely though since other games based on PS2 code (Super Monkey ball, Sonic Mega Collection, Megaman Anniversary, Fatal Frame 1 and 2, Silent Hill 4, etc.) are plentiful on the BC list.

2.  It's a conspiracy, just like 9/11.  Capcom doesn't want to risk a (still unannounced, and with the speed of games hitting XBLA, means it's not gonna happen until 2008 even if it was announced today) future XBLA port of SF3 or Capcom vs SNK 2.  Unlikely because 1. Neither game would fit the current size limit on XBLA 2. Other games announced for XBLA (or out already) do have BC enabled Xbox1 versions (UMK3, Pac Man, Galaga, Sonic the Hedgehog)

3.  These games had low sale numbers (which they did) and MS assumes that these games are low priority.  So they're just at the bottom of the pile.  I don't think MS takes notice of forum posts, which is why the emails are important.  The more email requests they get the greater the chance these games will get a higher priority.

So send an email, and if you already have sent an email, get your friends to send emails too.

:)

I think it's the sales numbers, capcom wouldn't have any priority to MS over an arcade game.

Which makes the emails important.  Get your friends and family to send emails, ask your buddies at work...if every one who wants to play SF3 on X360 got five people to send MS an email, we'd have the game on the next update.
