You'd have to ask Himu to confirm (I've only played them on 360), but the PC versions are supposed to be good.

I imagine you can get the first one cheap nowadays, and there was a sale for the second one for $40(I think) not so long ago.

ME1 was slightly tweaked from the Xbox360 version. ME2 on the PC is a really good port as well, although I think both version are identical [aside from the PC version having graphics options].

Haven't played Dragon Age, but the thing about Mass Effect is that it really feels like a big-budget smart sci-fi movie with great art direction and music, whereas the DA screens I've seen make it look rather generic.

just saying that the PC version of ME1 is more taxing than ME2, as in, ME2 is much better optimized than ME1 despite the improved visuals.  this is true on the 360 as well.  If you don't have a beefy PC, I'm not sure how well ME1 would run, but ME2 should be fine.
