I ordered the DS version because I want to play a Metroid game and Other M sure didn't deliver.

What little I played of the 360/PS3 version at Best Buy seemed good enough..err, I mean it was 'mildly-tits'? is that the right usage?

How did this game come out?

Everyone I've talked to is like "what, it's out?  I thought it was still months away".

Between this and Batman B&tB, WB doesn't know how to market videogames at all.

If this is good I'll get it when it drops to a more reasonable price since it doesn't sound quite up to AAA standards.

I had no clue that Batman game was out today too.  I saw someone mention there were two superhero games out today and I had to look it up on Gamestop.  Even after that I thought he was talking about a City of Heroes expansion pack.

DS version is awesome.  Seems short but I don't think that's a problem.  Way better than Metroid Other M.  It even has achievements!

Tell me, how would co-op work in this game?

I just want to beat up some spidey villians with the bros.

Just beat this and it was daaaaarn good.  Best comic book game since the golden days of SNES imo.  Game is very rough and can be glitchy, but the amount of stages and variety between each one is staggering.  All the best marvel characters, lots of great moments, 25+ good boss fights with their own puzzle elements.  Some parts are tedious and the combat is a notch below God of War, but the combat/platforming/puzzles/collectables all work together to make a great comic book title.  Had a huge grin on my face for a good 70% of it.

If you ever liked comics as a kid or still like them now, then this is a must play imo.  It's technically not as good as Batman AA, but I think it's a better comic book game.  Plus it doesn't have stupid stuff like ROID JOKER FINAL BOSS.

The achievements are pretty good.  Got about 60-70% of them first run.  I was thinking about 100%-ing it but there are a couple that would be annoying:

-collecting everything in the game (with a guide you'd be good, but there are a few parts where it locks a door behind you so you are screwed if you miss anything)
-beating a boss without getting hit once
-beating all the levels on hard (I play my games on normal!)

Also I'd recommend to not marathon it because the stages are long and it'll get tiresome if you try to do it all at once.  If you do a few stages each day it keeps the tedium down and makes the enjoyable parts stick out more.

My friend compared this to Spider-Man for PS1. Thoughts?

I don't remember anything about the PS1 game besides it was made by the Tony Hawk guys, so I can't comment.  But I've heard people say that as well.

I didn't play any superhero games between SNES and PS3/X360 for some reason.

I'm considering get this with that vanquish kmart deal.  I played the DS game earlier and thought that was great (it is a metroid/castlevania game) but I still want the console version.

I started playing the DS game.  It's cool but what's up with the framerate?  It feels so weird playing a metroidvania game that runs choppy.  Makes the running and jumping feel off.

I'm going to be so glad when we hit 3DS.  Hopefully that will be the end of sub 30fps handheld games.
