Tom DeLonge was all upset people didn't get the deeper meanings of his lyrics and weren't taking him seriously, so he ended the group and formed Angels & Airwaves, while Travis and Mark formed +44 and continued the same stuff.

After a while, Tom realized that'll never change, so he'd rather make more money making good songs as the original group.

Angels and Airwaves is still touring, they're coming to Toronto in May.

My friend introduced me to their stuff last year.  I'd consider myself a fan.
