Actually, credit my producer for killing that blog post. We're talking to a company with pretty deep ties with Warner Bros. and he didn't want me to do or say anything stupid to jeopardize The Projectionist.
I don't know, I just thought it was hilarious that weeks later, Kevin Smith snapped about critics' opinions on CopOut (which he initially brushed off, I think I even posted that here!) and went on this tirade - claiming that critics should be forced to pay to see films.
I didn't understand the logic in that then and I certainly don't understand it now. Quite honestly, if I see something for free, I'm more likely to give it a pass because I didn't spend my hard earned cash on it. I mean, if Kevin Smith thought CopOut reviews were negative and unfair before, wait until he gets advanced copies of reviews written by critics that actually had to pay to see it.
This just goes to prove, along with the fact that he responds to anything remotely negative that I put on Twitter, that he's pretty sensitive.
