Since I upgraded from my old 56k connection four or five years ago, I've been getting about 80KBs download speed. Within the past hour or so I started getting, at a consistent rate, about 200KBs download speed. An increase of about 250%. Just all of sudden.

If it were that simple I would have shut that off ages ago! 80KBs is far better than 56k, but online play is still a bit laggy at times.

Also, I'm actually hitting about 300KBs+ download speed from Steam.

That happened to me the other day, got 50% boost on my speed but only lasted for a month.

As far as I know, 80KBs was the speed that everyone got with this internet service. They may have upgraded on their end or something. Either way, it's nice to have a big boost like this to my internet speed.

Yeah, I found out recently that my connection is rated at 15Mb

I originally bought into it (two years ago) rated at 8Mb

For whatever reason, my internet on my 360 is about ten times faster than on my netbook. I can d/l 1 gb dlc in just a couple of minutes.

My ping times aren't as good but I get pretty good download speeds with Time Warner cable. Torrenting is usually at a minimum of 1mb/sec.

On a good day there's not too much lag and L4D isn't as bad as other games since there's usually only 4 people or, at most, 8.
