Let's make a list.  It seems every time Sony makes an update or a revision, they take shit out of the PS3.

- Other OS

- Flash card reader

- SACD support

- Backwards compatibility

- Power switch (you can't actually turn off the PS3 slim, just put it in sleep mode :teehee)

Wow, why would someone buy a machine that gets downgraded with every update and revision?  :rofl :rofl :rofl

There's even more if you include the pre-launch promises:

-Dual-1080P output

-120 FPS gaming

-rocket launching computer

-saves cancer

-makes paninis

I should make a list of all the shit MS has added to the 360 since launch for comparison!

- New XBox Experience

- Avatars

- USB memory stick support

What else?

Still don't see the point though, with a pc.

It'll come down to Zelda.

If Zelda comes out soon for wii, I'm getting a wii, or borrowing a wii. Doesn't matter.

You can't turn off the wii either, my sister just unplugged it when she is not using it since electricity is ridiculous expensive here.

I'm sure hey will find a way to remove more, even though there is not much left to remove.

The Wii on non standby takes about 2 watts of electricity.

the ps3 slim has an external power source, no? I figured the reason the fat PS3 had a switch was due to the internal psu, and the opposite for why the slim doesn't.  I know the 360 external one still is getting charge even when the 360 is off because of the orange light.

and I haven't checked up on it in a while, but way back when a lot of third party controllers worked with PS2 games and after a patch they stopped working.  Something along those lines.

oh yeah, and some of my Blurays that WERE working now error out and don't work. Think Dragona has a similar beef with this.

They're even removing some Blu-Rays' compatibility with the system?! :rofl

Remember Kutaragi put together that patent that was to remove your ability to sell your physical media games - one time linking of unique game id to an account, after that it's basically a coaster if you're done with it.

Not that other companies aren't absolutely looking into something similar to slice the 2nd hand market out.

Yeah this sucks. Would've been good if they still supplied the older 'elite' models for those who would use the features however their firmware updates were already making them confused enough having to have different releases for old consoles with bc/linux compatibility and the new ones without it.

Project Ten Dollar is actually a better idea, IMO.  They don't make the game incompatible with other systems if you decide to sell it but you have to pay the game company to access DLC and content.

If you think it's acceptable to purchase a product that advertises itself as having certain features, and then as the years go by, those features are gradually removed, then you're a fucking sucker, dude.

But then again, that's to be expected of an Sbot.

Although it's not really a serious troll, it still sheds truth on state of the ps3. No matter how much of a good system I think it is, the truth is the truth and denial will only set you back.

You're ridiculous. Yes the Xbox is perfect and has never had any problems ever. And Sony didn't reflect the changes in hardware with a massive price drop. Microsoft don't nickel and dime their users for bullshit either like controllers without rechargable batteries, wireless adapters and ridiculously over priced hard drives
