are the god of war numbers considered good?

i'm still saying it and GT5 are the only PS3 games that will have good sales but I'm really not sure if that is considered good for what it is

It's the best the series has ever sold in the first month and its certainly one of the best first month's for a PS 3 exclusive if not the best that I can recall off the top of my head. Certainly better than stuff like Uncharted 2.

It came out pretty late in the month and this is a pretty big software month so its no surprise it didn't make the top 10 (maybe top 20 tommorow when that gets released) although yeah, I don't think that game is going to sell a ton. I don't think that franchise has a lot of mindshare yet.

Never underestimate the power of teenage bitches...

FF13 sold too much, about 0.5 mill too much on 360...sfags have a bad taste anyway
God of War did great...i guess that public likes gore and blood and name sells
It will disappear quickly, but the debut is very impressive

As for Battlefield,not impressed...

Hardware
Only Wii and DS have followed 5 week curve, the rest sold less...i guess the fad is not over yet,lol

Big exclusives, heavy hitters did "nothing" for HD consoles...Wii on the other hand sells without games

GoWIII and FFXIII yet the PS3 couldn't outsell anyone. Clearly both games were not system sellers

Wait for Gran Turismo 5.

I never saw a lack of PS3s.  I think they were always more demand constrained than supply constrained.  Just because there are no longer the pallets upon pallets of unsold PS3 stock doesn't mean it is now supply constrained.

Too bad about the Ps3 shortages. I'm sure the Ps3 would've outsold the Wii if there were no shortages.

I still don't get the Wii HW numbers. Does each new NSMBwii user buy a Wii with it or what?

Can someone point me to a website where the PS3 is not readily available? I remember last year, or the year before, the PS3 edged out the 360 in the Jan-Mar period and the Sony dudes were saying there was no 360 shortage. Yet Amazon, BestBuy, TRU.com, etc. had none available for order. I can get a PS3 right now on all those sites, and anecdotally I can see them on shelves everywhere too.

Finally the 2 games worth buying a PS3 for are actually selling.

Only 4 years too late :lol

Hell no, neither FF13 nor GOW3 is worth buying a PS3 for.  There are way better games on that system.

It's a fantastic console with amazing software for everyone, what's not to get?

And I doubt the Ps3 would've outsold the Wii. I'm sure it would've zoomed past the Xbox but Wii is a different beast.

No More Heroes, Just Dance, and Silent Hill are all mediocre, even by my standards.  Megaman isn't exclusive.  Tatsunoko needs a peripheral controller just to play it right.

List needs more HotD overkill, excitebots, punchout, tiger woods 10 with controls work right now!, and I like some wii sports resort here and there.

Yeah it's not exclusive, but it's still a good game on Wii.

I strongly disagree in regards to NMH2 and Silent Hill, I can see an argument for Just Dance (it's not fun if you're playing with someone who's super serious). I agree with the rest.

Yeah I don't buy this. Nintendo and third parties simply put out less games on that platform that appeal to a "core" demographic. Now that is a perfectly reasonable and arguably smart business approach but this notion that Nintendo games are so "deep" and "replayable" that it makes up for this strikes me as Nintendo FUD.

I think originally the Wii had such an audience. But that was years ago. Those people (me for example) moved on to the other systems to provide that sort of entertainment. Now you just have left the mainstream people who aren't as interested in hacking and shooting people which is why mature games don't sell very well at all on that platform anymore.

The sad thing about the Wii is that most people don't even try to take advantage of its hackability because there're so few games worth downloading.

I'm speaking for myself.  Like say, I have a fps that I like playing over and over. I have no desire to go out and buy another one.  I usually stick with one game per genre that has good replay value.

Ya, that's pretty sad.  I haven't really played it yet but it seems like a real solid game, based on the feedback I've heard from PC gamers.  The bright side is that the business people will be glad that a PC version was made.  When a game is selling that low, every sold copy counts.

Wii sucks if you treat your games as disposable and go from one to the next at a whim.  I'm happy buying games with good replay value.   Its also a source of novel experimentation every so often.  And I love me some novelty!  :cookiem
I got this N64 to sell you.

N64 blew balls.  Of course I never understood how anyone tolerated goldeneye/perfect dark back in the day.

The N64 is home to the two greatest games of all time + the first AAA console FPS. It was hardly a system that blew balls.

he's right
the n64 was better than the wii :teehee

In terms of the software library? Absolutely. Only the Ps2 has a better/comparable software library than the N64.
???

Nice to see people picking the support pokemon product

silver :gun
Just noticed this. I thought red/gold were always the more popular games?
Nah, the most popular games have always been: Red/Silver/Ruby/FireRed/Diamond. As for why Silver seemingly breaks tradition, its probably thanks to all the marketing Nintendo put into Lugia and such for the movie that released at the same time.

spoiler (click to show/hide)

Hey Timmy, do you want the game with the girly bird or the one with the awesome silver thing from the movie you saw last summer?
