Great performance from Lebron.  That last twirl around layup was just ridiculous.  BUT as a coach, I'd be a little worried.  Sure, Lebron scored a lot tonight but those aren't the shots that he usually takes.  That's the difference between Jordan and Kobe/Lebron, imo.  MJ always takes the exact shots that he wants to take while those other two sometimes let the defense dictate what they can get.

Those aren't the shots he usually takes, true, but does it really matter if he still sinks them anyway?

but I agree with you, the Bulls have something to go off of for their home game.  Brown needs to address the Cavs defense...but you know he won't because he's Mike Brown.

Yeah, but Jordan was reffed in a way that hardly any player was allowed to play real D on him. Kobe/Lebron get that sort of treatment, but nobody has had it to the level MJ had. If you tried to force him into something he didn't want, there would just be a phantom whistle. If he was having an off shooting night then there would be a phantom whistle.

In the later years that was definitely the case. It was very frustrating watching other players have to play him on defense. Superstars get calls but MJ calls in the later stages were just painful.

MJ was smart though. When it counted he always took it inside where you know there is going to be contact and the refs feel obligated to call something.

LeBron's biggest problem with shot selection is those 30 foot heat checks he keeps on serving up, even in the final 90 seconds of close games. But he'll never have a coach call him on that shit so it's not going to get better most likely. Making that one to win against Orlando last year was not a good thing for his overall game, I think.

Kobe's not even MVP of his own team.  He put them in that hole to begin with.  Lakers would be fucking dead if they didn't have Gasol.  You know jack shit about basketball.  Judging by your pics, you can't play either.  I'm up for 1 on 1 anytime you're back home.  I'll spot you 9 points in a game to 11 since you're a fellow EBer.  It's the only way you'd score.

Obviously, Kobe can't be blamed totally for those guys shooting badly but he has to take some responsibility for throwing the offense out of rhythm by taking so many shots while shooting such a low FG%.  You could just tell that Kobe was intent on being the hero after having a shit game last time.  Even people who like Kobe way more than me saw that.  Like Barkley said, Kobe should have made the game easier for himself and his teammates. Kinda strange, innit, that people still say that stuff about Kobe after all those years of experience?

Kobe's not even MVP of his own team.

*exits internet*

I'm gonna be like GS and ask if you've seen the Lakers play recently.  'cause if you did, you should have known that Gasol has contributed more to the Lakers in the last couple of weeks.

ITT: if you chant "MVP" for your star, and his name isn't Lebron James, you're ignorant and delusional.  :lol

It's not so much about Kobe vs Lebron.  I'm just disgusted that Lakers fans are so intent on giving all the credit to Kobe even when he clearly isn't the main reason for their success.  Like Mandark said, most Lakers fans are really just Kobe fans nowadays.  I, for one, can't wait for his era to be over just so that I can cheer for the Lakers again.

I'd have agreed with you on Gasol even a year ago but now I'm not quite sure.  There just aren't that many big men that can compete today with Gasol @ both ends.   Gasol is possibly the most complete big man right now.  I saw him completely dominate Duncan this year and that has never, ever happened before.  Duncan could neither stop Pau nor get his own shot off.  Even in his declined state, Duncan is still easily among the top 5 PF/C.  If you can outplay Duncan like that, then you're good enough to be the man on a championship team.

Cuban is willing to spend to make a winning team. He speaks his mind when a lot of owners pussy out. He is also a fan and any loud fan is annoying. I think the obnoxious fan part of him is why he gets hate.

I give him a lot of kudos for making mostly smart moves, not blowing up a team when most owners would have given up, and generally being a disruptive but progressive force. He's doing some really good work to improve refereeing that the League is going to have to confront at some point.

Dirk had another great game (and somehow he made Ginobili's nose look worse), yet his coach and teammates didn't show up--again.

Dirk's '09-10 Playoff Stats
32 PPG, 8 RPG, 3 APG, 56 FG%, 100 3PT%, 96 FT%

Terry, Butler, and Marion are all shooting under 40%. Kidd is shooting under 30%. Dampier is shooting 0%!

Marion 7 points and 3 boards a game?
