That was sad how KG just tried to get out of the way but wasn't even quick enough to do that.  It was even sadder than Bron's dunk on him two years ago.  Maybe KG should consider retiring or becoming a reserve.

KG is no longer a shot-blocker, that's for sure. It's a shame he wasted his legs playing ridiculous minutes in meaningless games for shitty teams.

They're idiots. Who cares.

Tonight is a pretty big game. I fully expect the Lakers to win the next 2 games and close out the series but you know there will be a lot of tension and excitement even for an LA crowd.

I had a funny thought as I was watching a couple of games last night. It was that this is the best the NBA has been since the mid and late 80's when you had Jordan come in and still the old guard established stars like Bird and Magic. etc around. It really has been a renaissance. Team play still isn't as good as it was but you have the highest amount of legit superstars playing that I can remember in awhile.

They even shoot legit FG%'s which is always a good shorthand barometer for the quality of the game.

One of these years my Blazers are going to do something more than first round. It will be a year they don't have 300+ combined missed games due to injuries. I guess it makes sense Brandon is playing even though he's not 100% because, fuck it, he has the off season to recover.

I read that the reason athletes often come back so quick from meniscus injuries is that they opt to just remove the meniscus entirely. Which is fine, you can live without it, you're just going to be playing basically bone-on-bone for the rest of your career. I sincerely hope this is not what happened with Brandon (and Chris Paul), but I'm concerned.

Yeah, it's a lot to ask of a young team to go to Staples and kick ass when everyone thinks they've exceeded expectations already. The crowd obviously buoyed them a lot in gms 3 and 4. Who knows, though - they could rebound in gm 5 with their backs to the wall.

Also, the DJ for the biggest sports station in LA was saying there's no way that the NBA would let the Lakers lose game 5.  It's kinda sad but there's probably some truth to that theory.  You never hear that kinda stuff about the other sports.

I've always said the Mavericks are just an incorrectly built team for the playoffs. Cuban spends a lot of money but they haven't been able to assemble a proper squad that works for playoff basketball. They are an entertaining squad but not a high percentage basketball squad.

Tyreke Evans is very talented, and deserves the ROY, but I honestly can't see any team built around him being all that successful. He needs the ball in his hands all the time to win, so the ceiling would appear to be the 2001 Philadelphia 76ers. I say all this as a former Kings fan.  Maybe he becomes a Wade-type talent and proves me wrong but I'm not all that optimistic. At the very least, he needs a lot more help than he has right now.

Didn't Dirk score 25 points in the second half of an elimination game? He averaged 27/8/3 for the series while shooting 55% from the floor.

Honestly, Who played better: Dirk's cast or Duncan's? If Dirk shot 48% from the freethrow line, he'd never hear the end of it.

That's probably correct. Cuban goes after the best talent available, even if it doesn't necessarily fit with the existing team. The worst example is when he picked up both Jamison and Walker, even though the team already had Dirk.

They're really not that entertaining anymore, and haven't been since Nash left.

That is my worry as well. I worry he's a Gilbert Arenas type. I think his lack of ability to drive and dunk, lack of explosion to the rim and tendency towards a power game over a quickness game will limit him. He has no off the ball game, no outside shot and no awareness of players around him. If you build around that, you'll never make it pass the first round. The only hope is that he improves the outside shot and learns how to move without the ball so he can be used like a Roy/Wade. I don't think he has the vision to ever be a distributor.

I think Tyreke's ceiling is about Brandon Roy's level, which is still great but not quite enough to win a championship without an excellent supporting cast.  Like etiolate, he just doesn't have the athleticism or vision to be an elite player like Wade.

The Mavs lost last night because Jason Terry and Jason Kidd went 2 for 13 and both their centers barely had any presence at all. But I guess Dirk should have scored 44 points and single-handedly won the game for the team, like a REAL superstar.

Tough loss for the Thunder - Ibaka just didn't box out Gasol after doing a great job most of the series. The Lakers and the rest of the west should be very very scared of these guys next season.

It's unfortunate but the Thunder didn't execute on offense those last few trips down the court. They just held the ball at the top of the key and stood around until hoisting up a last second shot. The Coach should have had them a bit more prepared than that.

It will be interesting to see if other teams are able to find a guy to defend Kobe. This is the first time I can remember a series off the top of my head where just dumping the ball into Kobe's hands in the 4th quarter and letting him go didn't really accomplish much on a series basis.

I'm not sure if its a sign of Kobe just getting old. Durant bothering him a lot by being so long and quick. Or a combination of the two.

I think the Cavs will be okay – they'll at least steal one of the games in Boston, and that's just fine.  I knew that Cavs would have a hard playoff run this year, unlike their two round sweep last year.  Oddly enough, I feel like the roles have reversed for Cleveland and Orlando – and I think it's to Cleveland's benefit.

Orlando destroying these buttfuck easy teams only to face one tremendous team and possibly get shocked into a long series.  Happened to the Cavs last year, I could see it happening to the Magic this year–either with the Cavs OR the Celtics.

On the other hand, Cleveland has had two losses so far in the playoffs, and after the first loss they came back and destroyed Chicago.  Probably not enough to see a pattern developing, but I think Cleveland takes tonight's game regardless.
