I'll be buying all 3 games at the bottom of the list. Never played any of them for more than a stage or two.

Is it on PSN?  XBL version will obviously be better but my steering wheel only works on the PS3.

Every X360 game has custom soundtracks, so it'll even out.  :-*

You lame!
Then I'm lame too. I love playing Taxi Driver in GTA, and I like arcade racers (and don’t enjoy racing sims) but I could not get more than 5 or 10 minutes into this on PSP (Double Somethingorother). If someone could educate me what the hell is supposed to be so great about this series, I’d appreciate it.

Its simple fun with attitude and cheesy rock music!  Good old non tarnished sega goodness of yesteryear!

Seriously, the closest comparison I can make is to say, burnout.  That may not be a good comparison, but i get a kick going from a->b and looking for ramps, drift opportunities, parking decks to drive off of into traffic, etc.  If all you're doing is reaching your destination and getting minimum fare then yeah I could see it being dull.

edit: and I spend a minimum of two hours with any game bought.  Just a rule to live by.

If the PSP version is missing the arcade/Dreamcast soundtrack then you're missing a large part of the game. This was the first game I bought for my Dreamcast back in the day, it will always hold a special place in my heart  :-[

Nice image quality.  It wasn't that long ago when people would spent five times the cost of a 360 just to get Quake looking like that.

Where is all of this coming from?

I guess since Quake Live failed, they're trying their luck on Xbox.

Carmack has stated for a long time he wants Quake on XBLA. Years ago even as I remember. I think it just took them awhile to either get around to it or whoever ported this.

No idea yet. PartnerNet is the 360 XBLA for Developers and reviewers. Sony doesn't have a counterpart for their devnet.

On PartnerNet you can get unlimited free MS points and play whatever other devs leave posted on those servers. (The first build of DN3D on it was just a spinning 3D cube) There's LOTS of shit there you aren't supposed to talk about.

MS can find out who leaked these images (By achievement score) and get them in trouble.

No Offspring? I need to make a Dreamcast version playlist. But that really sucks. :( It won't be the same without YAH YAH YAH YAH YAH at the beginning of each run.

I wish they would have been more creative with their sequels, like have a Crazy Ambulance, Crazy Hearse, that sort of thing.

How can you make custom soundtracks? I've owned my 360 for about a year and never figured out how to do it.  Can you do it with all 360 games or just arcade titles or what?

Custom Soundtrack is an overly optimistic misnomer if you're hoping for anything like an interactive soundtrack as found in most games anymore. It's a just media player which runs concurrently with your active game, overriding the game's in-game musical selection. All it means is you hear your own music in favor of the game's music. This feature is present in any 360 game. You access it through the Guide button, under the Media blade.

You can populate your 360 Audio Library by ripping CDs to your HDD or USB storage, or if you're running Windows Media Player 11 or greater on a machine on your local network, you can publish its library to be discoverable by your 360:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/mp11/sharemedia.aspx

The same feature is available on PS3, called "System BGM" but is not consistently present in all games, as it was only added to the system software last year.

Just make a Crazy Taxi playlist, copy the songs in and set it to random.

Ah, that doesn't sound quite as cool as I was hoping.  I was hoping, for example, if I was playing an RPG I could set specific battle music, boss music, field music, etc.

It's more like "background music" instead of "custom soundtracks."
