Okung, Earl Thomas, and Golden Tate.  Yeah, I'll take that.  The Seahawks still have a lot of rebuilding to do but so far so good.

Now hopefully they'll suck so bad again that they'll have a chance at Jake Locker next year.

Hawks traded for Lendale White... huh.

Well it was a trade that basically cost them nothing so I don't mind giving ol' fatty a try.  All they gave up was a couple of spots in the 4th and 7th, plus they got some 6'5" 305lb DT along with White so all in all not too shabby.  This just means that the Julius Jones era has finally come to an end in Seattle.  Thank fucking god.

I'm actually more surprised that the Jets threw Leon Washington to Seattle for a bag of chips.  If his leg heals this will be one amazing pickup for the Seahawks.

He's got to be better than Russell though. Right?

I'm kind of amazed of how well Oakland is doing this year.  God only knows how it'll all pan out but on paper I think Al Davis has actually put a pretty damn impressive draft together.  Al freakin Davis.

He's a solid quarterback. He just isn't a very good on-the-field leader. Maybe being traded to Oakland will help him and he'll develop a chip on his shoulder. Maybe he'll try and prove himself.

But the man was just mediocre in D.C. and his numbers - which everyone points to - don't really tell the tale. Almost all his decent stats were picked up in garbage time last season. The game was usually put away, and then teams would play prevent and he'd throw some TDs.

Now that the draft is over, the biggest question is "Who will be the first team to take a chance on the skeevy dude that sexed up his sister?"  :hump

http://deadspin.com/5490101/report-nfl-draft-prospect-once-put-his-tremendous-upside-in-his-sister

Apparently scouts had him as high as the second round until they found out about his history. The local sports guys were talking about him this afternoon saying he could be a good pick up for somebody if he's got his head on straight now, but seriously, how could you ever look this guy in the face if he was on your team? And just think about the trash talk he's going to hear on the field. :lol

ASHBURN, Va. -- Albert Haynesworth was absent again Friday when the Washington Redskins opened their second voluntary minicamp under new coach Mike Shanahan.

The two-time All-Pro defensive tackle remains unhappy with the Redskins' switch to a 3-4 defense and would prefer to be traded. He has also irked Shanahan by working with his own trainer and staying away from all of the team's voluntary offseason conditioning sessions.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5171050

Guaranteed FA money  :-\

Lots of folks call into our sports radio shows and ask if/how the Lions could get Haynesworth. I don't want someone like that. On a successful team with established leadership I'd imagine he'd be good/decent, but putting him on a team that's rebuilding would be a disaster. The Skins are looking good imo, and the franchise is making moves to further improve. His behavior is just ridiculous.

I'd say anyone would be a fool to pay or trade anything for a free agent this off season, especially when we don't know if there's going to be a lock out next year, and there's a good chance that'll happen.  That being said, Haynesworth is a bum.

And I'm glad the NFL busted Brian Cushing on steroid abuse, even if it's only a 4 game suspension. Honestly, they should also strip him of his DROY award last season too. That douche was obviously roiding.  Zombie Ray Charles could see that.

Haynesworth isn't a free agent ???

In fact, since the Redskins paid him all that guaranteed money, he's pretty much a steal for any team that trades for him. Considering he's so disruptive when he plays, and elevated the 'Skins defensive line last year, they're not going to trade him for peanuts. Even if that means putting up with his behavior.

Yeah, sorry.  He's not a free agent, but he's still possible trade bait for someone out there regardless what Shanahan says in public.  Still, I think it's a little silly for any team right now to be making any big moves or even considering them this off season with the collective bargaining agreement being as tumultuous as it is.

I remember thinking about a year or two ago when I first heard that this year was going to be an uncapped season that it was going to be an absolutely crazy offseason, but it really hasn't been like that at all.

Dez Bryant refuses to carry Roy William's pads. :lol

On one hand, Dez is a rookie and he's earn his place before he goes and gets a big ego. He's been doing good so far, not pulling a Crabtree and trying to hold out for more money, showing up for practice on time, spending all his free time palling around with Tony Romo to figure out what he needs to do. This little incident doesn't really reflect well on his character though, you're still a newb, buddy. :wag On the other hand though, fuck some Roy Williams. :lol

So, what's the Washington media's take on the Haynesworth situation? Are they behind Haynesworth or Shanahan?

I think the media and the fans are firmly on Team Shanahan. Haynesworth has not endeared himself to the fan base whatsoever. We didn't like him last season with his frequent on-field breaks and he really upset the apple cart with his behavior in the off-season.

Plus, the organization and the coaching staff was so dysfunctional for so long (even under Gibbs Era 2.0), that it's nice to have a firm taskmaster running house nowadays. Haven't seen anything like this since Schottenheimer was around, but unfortunately he didn't have the Super Bowl clout to go toe-to-toe with a younger, more stubborn Dan Snyder. Shanny does. And he is benefiting from a more hands-off owner that has been beaten down by time and bad press.

So I think people appreciate Shanahan not giving anyone an inch - Haynesworth included.

dude is a walking disaster. It's a shame because he's a great player (when he tries). Some Lions fans want to trade for him, but if he's acting up in Washington he'll really throw a fit on a shittier team like us

There are some in the press that think Shanahan is going too far by publicly humiliating him, but I think Haynesworth is pretty much reaping what he sowed. He might not be able to practice until next week, if he he can't pass this stupid conditioning test.

Redskins won't trade him, not this year. If he has a MVP-type year, I could see Shanahan and Allen moving him for a couple of draft picks, maybe a toxic asset swap, but I doubt he goes. He's too good and Shanahan isn't the type you push around.

Word on the street is that Vincent Jackson might be suiting up in burgundy and gold, though.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen is the latest reporter to suggest that the agents for unsigned Detroit Lions rookie Ndamukong Suh are seeking more money than the player selected ahead of him in the 2010 draft, quarterback Sam Bradford.

The numbers Mortensen reported are staggering -- six years, $90 million with $56 million in guarantees -- but likely represent a negotiating tactic rather than a hard-line from agents Roosevelt Barnes and Eugene Parker. As we discussed Saturday, it's difficult to imagine the Lions paying Suh more than the quarterback premium Bradford received.

What probably has created some wiggle room for Suh's agents is the large gap between Bradford's total guarantees ($50 million) and that of the No. 3 overall pick Gerald McCoy ($35 million). Stay tuned. The Lions have two practices Sunday, at 9 a.m. at 3:15 p.m.
http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/14201/wait-ndamukong-suh-wants-how-much
Holy shit  :lol

Bargaining tactic sure, but I'm still disappointed. One of the first things Suh did after getting drafted was promise not to hold out. I realize business is business but it's still a disappointing turn of events.

He better be a complete and utter beast

It's just the pre-season, but so far the Lions look good. Stafford threw an interception but it wasn't his fault; juggled ball in the air by Best. Best had some great runs/plays, Calvin Johnson looked good as usual.

On the defense side, Suh was getting double teamed early, freeing up the other defensive linemen to make big plays.

game got rained out tho, dunno if they're gonna cancel it or not
