Chris Nolan's INCEPTION-
« on: April 22, 2010, 11:02:48 PM »
First viral is up:

I seriously don't know what's real anymore. He mentioned how he did research for the film. So this is it? But that would also mean the military really is engaged this dreams control project ?

The only big blockbuster (other than toy story) that looks decent this summer, can't wait. this looks more like Memento than Batman, which is a great thing. memento >>>>>>>>> the dark knight.

This looks a lot more like TDK than Memento, dude. At least in scope. Plus it's being billed as a summer blockbuster. I think going in expecting another Memento is stacking the deck against it.

None of his movies have had lame twist endings.  The only thing I can think of is The Prestige, where it wasn't really a twist, it was more "here's what the fuck happened if you're this distinguished mentally-challenged that you're still confused about what's going on"

Bad ending to an otherwise great movie.

It must be cool to make a movie that grosses a billion dollars then tell the studio "fuck you pay me, let me make whatever I want now"

Yeah, I like the prospect for off-the-wall action [literally] and the bigger focus on scifi that Inception looks to have. Unless there's some huge flaw somewhere in the movie, Nolan's going to hit this one out of the park.

Such a poor movie. Full of way too much exposition for my liking and it fell apart for me on a second watch.

Rick: It's a device, Morty, that when you put it in your ear, you can enter people's dreams, Morty. It's just like that movie you keep crowing about!

Morty: You're talking about Inception?

Rick: That's right, Morty! This is gonna be a lot like that, expect y'know, it's gonna make sense.

Morty: Inception made sense!

Rick: You don't have to try and impress me, Morty!

---

Rick: So y'know, every day here is like a minute. It's like Inception, Morty, so if it's confusing and stupid, then so is everyone's favorite movie.

Too bad Nolan passed away after filming it. Apparently his next film was gonna be a sci fi epic with Leo Di'Caprio returning. It would have probably had aliens in it too, because lord knows I can't watch boring sci fi tech demos without aliens.

Interstellar had some clunky parts to it, but I still really enjoyed that movie. Great visuals, great soundtrack, yeah some of the exposition and monologues could have been a lot better, but MM was stellar [especially in the scene where he's watching the videos his daughter sent].

It's such a mess. Batman's on a break, comes back. Beaten by Bane, forced to go on another break and come back again.

Batman takes 8 years off cause his not-girlfriend died. #NotMyBatman

There was a whole "us vs. them, rich vs. poor" #OccupyWallStreet concept that is completely out of place and forgotten about after like 15 mins.

The Talia twist was lame. She lets him bone her because...? And keeps up the act even after he comes back to Gotham. Twist for the sake of a twist.

"I knew you were Batman because when I was a young orphan you gave me that look. No, not the 'I wanna fuck an orphan' look, the other look. The 'I have dead parents thus I'm Batman' look."

:snoop

"I like your original name. Robin." :comeon :ufup

Catwoman and Bane were great tho. And the soundtrack was fantastic. The rest? Nah breh.

The Prestige was his best superhero movie. Wolverine, Batman, Alfred, Black Widow, Gollum, that chick that was all yandere for Tony Stark, and The Goblin King as Nikola Tesla.

Prestige was definitely his tightest (prob best) movie since Memento (first 3/5 of BB is up there).

The Dark Knight Rises was a sloppy mess, but whenever I heard internet dwerp complain "How did he get back to Gotham!?!!" I wanted to kick them in the teeth. Not a plot hole, even grading them on a Babby's First Critical Thinking level.
