Final Fantasy V ADVANCED
« on: December 20, 2006, 07:34:20 AM »
This is the first GBA game I bought since Zero Mission or Twisted, whichever came out last.  I haven't delved too deeply into the job system, just gave each of my char one job so far.  I am kind of conflicted with what I want to do with Faris, so far Blue Mage has been useless and I have no black mage. Maybe I'll switch. For some reason leveling feels faster than I remember other 16bitters being.

Oh and this is my first time playing this game. I skipped out on the Playstation release because of the load times.

I've never used Blue Mage before, but did this run through--it's fuck powerful if you FAQ your way to the good spells. Aqua Breath is very powerful early on, White Wind is the best healing spell, and Mighty Guard is OFF THE CHAIN.

Try it!

FFIVa was the first real RPG I played and I LOVED it. I'm going to get FFVa as soon as possible

FF5 is damn good. Too bad I'm not done with FF3 and haven't even opened FF12.

Interesting....I gave up the the Blue Mage a little too early, I guess. Gonna have to try again instead of chickening out and going back to the same old "Knight, WM, BM,Knight" combo that I've been using.

I loved the Pokemon games and they were RPGs, but not serious ones. I played lots of FFVII back in the day too but I wasn't serious about it.

FFIV blew me away in every way, and it's one of my favorite games of all time. The story is great, the music rocked, the battle system was fun, etc. Most of all, the characters were very memorable.

Hah.

I got to the library of ancient's boss and he kicked my ass. So I went back and leveled up in the surrounding area, but just one level up (rather slow actually) and leveld each of my chars jobs and changed a few.  Gave my knight --> mystic knight, my white mage --> summon (with ifrit) and my theif ---> ninja.  Came back and pwned the boss in 1 round and 3 hits.   Flame scroll + Fira + Ifrit.
