Nova HD - Looks nice upscaled but not worth the $10.  I picked it up for $6 and play it locally with my son on his ipod.  The MP is kinda fun.

Scrabble - It's fucking Scrabble. Fun as hell (never played scrabble before in my life until my wife downloaded it on her ipod a few months back.

Aurora Feint 3 - pretty fun game. It's a puzzle type game where you can tilt the ipad in different directions to help you clear the blocks.  Pretty good graphics for a puzzle game and quite fun.  I'm pretty sure it was free.

Minigore HD - is the shit.  Such fun scrolling around and killing stuff.  I really like this game.  Bought it on sale though.

10 pin shuffle - also pretty fun.  Instead of a ball you bowl with a round thing.  I like this game alot - although not nearly as much as skeeball (which they haven't made an ipad version yet.  The ipod touch version works fine though.

Keep in mind I would be way more critical of this shit if it wasn't so cheap.

I'd be keen to check out Knights of Phantom Castle by Hudson Soft and Geometry Wars: Touch which isn't all that different from the xbox version but y'know it looks hot on yer iPad apparently and it's Geometry Wars. So I'd buy it.

Square Enix is making a iPad version of Chaos Ring, an iPhone/iPod Touch exclusive RPG that's been getting great reviews.

I wish Apple would come out with an external controller for the iPad.  I was trying out this racing game that looked really sweet but was completely unplayable with the tilt controls.

ideally you would have more games that work well with the touch controls and whatnot rather that relying on traditional controls.  It is similar to the Wii problem where they release existing styles of games that control worse to do the gimped control method.  plants vs zombies is one I'd imagine controls well with the touch controls.  on the ipod touch, that spider game played well and just used swipes to control.

has anyone tried Mirror's Edge on the ipad? videos made it seem like that one flash game but more involved.

I see minigore mentioned above and that game is really fun on the ipod touch.  one of the only ipod/pad games I've played that have nice fake analog sticks.

But the whole point is that you don't have any peripherals which 'add' to the experience otherwise the product gets bogged down. More traditional experiences are what the PC/one of the multitudes of consoles around are for.

Yeah.  But it's also compatible with some 3rd party bluetooth keyboards.  It's fully compatible with all of Apple's bluetooth keyboards.

I'm pretty much planning to not buy any more iTunes Music Store credit. We'll see if I can resist next time I'm stateside and I see those impulse purchase cards in the supermarket checkout.

Too bad the Japanese cards are all specific to the Japanese store. I don't want to have to make a separate account.
