it's like...this is one game, and it's during a year when a lot of good games are actually coming out for the wii. so stop complaining, who gives a shit "A lot" being like four-five titles? you don't want stupid list wars GOOD DAY SIR No, really. Indulge me with a list of what I'm sure are all awesome titles. i said good titles, none of the consoles get more than 4 or 5 must-buy titles any given year
that said, let's get wii ware out of the way first.
cave story - rather self-explanatory, plus it deserves to be played on a console. enhanced graphics/new modes round out the package
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/cavestory art of balance - a shin'en developed puzzle game that is oddly addicting and has a really fun multiplayer race mode. basically you are given a set of different shaped pieces to stack and you have to have them hold for a certain amount of time to move onto the next level
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/artofbalance megaman 10 - multiplat, but yeah...also self explanatory
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/megaman10 rage of the gladiator - this game looks ass ugly (seriously), but it's a wii-motion plus controlled punch-out clone with a medieval/fantasy get-up. it preserves the humor and "puzzle" aspects of its forebears while making great use of wii motion controls

to be honest, i barely know anything about this game, but having played a lot of the other bit.trip games, i can guarantee it'll be awesome.
super meat boy is going to be really good as well, also night game and la-mulana (another freeware game being brought to wiiware)
jett rocket is an impressive wiiware game if only for its scope (it's a 600 MB game compacted into 40 MB), but shin'en is hit and miss as an actual developer so i'd put it in the maybe pile
wii retail:
I didn't like NMH2 despite enjoying the first one. the first one had better developed boss battles and a much more intriguing story. that said the decision is pretty split, the critics seemed to like it a lot and some people just note the straight gameplay improvements and say it's better than the first. and then some just hate the series in general.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/nomoreheroes2desperatestruggle monster hunter tri
an improvement in almost every way over its predecessors. namely, the camera is fixed and i can finally play this series without wanting to kill myself. bore is full of super kawaii gamers, so i'm kind of surprised more of you aren't splooging all over this to be honest. not enough boob physics i guess
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/monsterhuntertri tatsunoko vs. capcom
this game kicks ass. online is a bit iffy, but so is sf4's online.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/tatsunokovscapcomultimateallstars trauma team
trauma center was a really neat series. this game continues it's trend of stupid animu stories, overly wide-eyed characters, and shitty graphics but luckily also continues it's strict difficulty, co-op modes, and adds different gameplay modes like diagnosis (which follow more p&c puzzle gameplay). it's a nice change of pace, and easily the most complete package for the series. plus this game is discounted at retail.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/traumateam red steel 2 is a really neat tech demo for the versatility and strength of wii motion plus's sword controls, but as a game its a bit flat. it's a repetitive action game. it won't dethrone bayonetta, but it does do well to make the player feel like a bad-ass, and it's (sadly) one of the best FPS's on the platform given the wii's skimpy offerings.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/redsteel2 upcoming retail games:
super mario galaxy 2 - if you don't care about this game, you have no soul
sin and punishment 2 - if you don't care about this game, you have no soul (unless you just can't justify full-price for arcadey shooting games in which case you still have no soul because this game is just as long as your uncharteds and your gears of wars)
metroid: other m - this game...is iffy. i really like the return to the kinda sorta 2d realm and the wii pointer aspects have me intrigued. i really hope they clean up the voice acting and that the later stages of the game really open up into classic super metroid sized maps and give you that isolation that we all know and love.
monado - also known as xenoblade in japan. tbh, i had no interest in this game until i saw the field video (
VIDEO ). i've been waiting for a jRPG with that type of exploration. hopefully there are rewards for branching out and the game can capitalize on the neat SoTC vibe i get from it.
a shadow's tale - getting a strong puzzle platformer/ico vibe from this game. excited
VIDEO trackmania wii - it's trackmania on the wii
then there the other games we know are coming but we don't know enough about yet, like last story (jRPG), zelda wii, epic mickey (they've retooled it after that fugly 2009 reveal) plus a few expected unexpected E3 reveals for nintendo's second half of the year
oh and CONDUIT 2 IS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR FUCKKK YEARRRRHHH
