When the hell does ModNation Racers come out?  Today?  It's still a PSN game, right?

The 25th - it's a full retail game, not sure if they'll have a downloadable version

Shit.  For some reason I was thinking that it was going to be available on PSN.  Chances of me actually buying it now are at 30%.  I'm not one for cart racers but I'd be down for something like ModNation Racers if it were like a 20 buck PSN game.

95% of the PC "master race" only plays World of Warcraft or The Sims.

Never played either.

When Farmville comes to PSN I can almost guarantee you'll buy it and make a post marveling about the lighting effects and how many objects are onscreen

Time to release some new consoles, these old ones are sucking.

(Image removed from quote.)

PS3 has got you covered.

Wait, WHAT?! Is that real? What the FUCK is that thing on the screen?

It looks like Mr. Garrison's invention

I haven't got a fucking clue what the hell is going on in that pic or if it's real, I just remember seeing it in a thread about sony's patents.  I hope to god it's real though.

i'm more interested in the asskicking machine

that would be an awesome social experiment, make an asskicking peripheral (all it would do is kick you in the ass while displaying "Thanks for your patronage!" onscreen), slap a Sony, MS, or Nintendo brand on it, and see who buys/defends it

Meh, Farmville is popular because there are no PC games to play.

Consoles don't really have that issue. Except for the Wii.

I didn't like it at all, but that's just me.  Just going by the demo alone, I knew it was going to be different from every other Splinter Cell game that preceeded it but I actually thought the demo ended up being more fun than the full game.

I'm probably going to trade it in along with FF13 for RDR.

You're not the only one who was disappointed by Conviction. Read other forums, the negative backlash is huge. The Neogaf thread still only has ~1500 posts. Pretty bad considering it's an online game also.

I generally ignore "negative forum backlash" because its a cult of groupthink. And post count for a thread generally has more to do with fanboys than actual relative popularity of a game. See the Killzone 2 thread on GAF.

That being said the problem with conviction was its not a great stealth game nor is it a great action game. It sits a bit uncomfortably straddling the line between the two rather than combining them in a really great way like I wanted.

i'm at a loss as to why calling out a clearly distinguished mentally-challenged lie is akin to not being able to take it

i mean, i'm a console gamer too, which also makes me partially distinguished mentally-challenged, but evidently not distinguished mentally-challenged enough to see and nod along with the illogical reasoning behind that statement

quick, someone hit me in the temple with a useless but expensive peripheral, like maybe a motion-controlled skateboard or something, that might help clear it up

Just noting the notorious thin skin of PC gamers. It's all fun and games on a forum when somebody jabs anybody else. Jab a PC gamer and you get list wars.

My friend has the same beastly laptop as me and the only thing he plays on it is fucking WoW. What makes no sense is that he has a 360 and all the games that come out on pc and 360, he always goes 360 for the cheevs. What's the point of having a 1000 dollar gaming laptop if you only play WoW on it? WoW isn't that hard on the system's muscles and brain!

I don't really get this either. I got my computer so that I could play high resolution versions of console games and exclusive PC games. I mean, that's the whole point of getting a computer like that, unless your doing lots of HD video editing or something.

Its unbelievable how you can be interested in hardware sales trends when you havent bought or played a game that was released in the past 5 years

Why would I buy a console, I'm apart of the PC master race  :lol

Can someone who only plays World of Warcraft be considered part of the PC master race?  The view from the hill is that all people who solely play World of Warcraft can't even be considered gamers in the most casual sense of the word.

You can feel free to "disagree" with that, but if you continue to "disagree", you will find yourself mocked, to no one's tears.

I'm thisclose to quitting WoW actually. I've spent way more time playing the SCII beta, and I should probably pull out TF2 again

love the celebrations the nfans are giving it  :lol

126k is a very respectable number for a Japanese franchise.

Bayonetta didn't do much better and it was considered a moderate success in NA.

I would give the game an overall score of 6/10.

It feels like the game was designed by a GameFaqs user. Hey look, an enemy: Shoot the lights +/ shoot his head. Repeat for 6 hours, and the game is done.

It's not horrible, but it's not worth your time or money.

I have yet to see an Alan Wake commercial.  Not that that means much of anything, but god knows I've seen a shit ton for Splinter Cell, God of War 3, etc.  I guess I was expecting to see a little more marketing for this.

Not only that but its a new franchise with no built in fanbase. It looks like a weird game to casuals I'm guessing. And I don't think video of it comes off especially well.

This will have nothing to do with the quality of the game, but for a game that took 6 years to make and comes from an "acclaimed" developer like Remedy...

Look at Heavy Rain. It had no marketing and half the internet was crying about holding R2 to walk, but it still charted...
