With my car all fixed up I headed to my fabled store of yore: Half Priced Books to check out some new books. I ended up taking a bunch of Queen vinyls for cheap.

Got Sheer Heart Attack, Night at the Opera, The Works, A Day at the Races, and News of the World. All of them pretty cheap. I scored a pretty solid print of Night at the Opera in good condition. Cost me 3-5 an album. Half Priced Books is the best store EVER.

And lemme tell you, I want more records. Unfolding a huge vinyl jacket with beautiful, beautiful art is AWESOME. News of the World's jacket is really rad and its image is completely lost on the digital and cd versions.

williamsburg is nearly 3000 square miles. it would be impressive for all of it to smell like urine.

bedford between 4th and 8th will sometimes smell like urine and vomit on weekends due to people coming to "cool brooklyn" which i guess means that they're on mental vacation and think that it's perfectly ok to act like complete fucking distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

the worst smell in the city i've experienced so far is trash day in the summer in the financial district. all those tiny streets cooking bags of trash in the hot hot summer sidewalks.

like 2004 is when i started to notice art kids coming back to house, i think the late 90s early 00s "rave scene" scared them away, but with electroclash becoming popular in that time period, i think it started to bring them back to the house sound.

plus now there's the Finger on the Pulse DJs and they're hella hipster and have been going for a while
