Just popped into my mind as a card carrying internet liberal that I use to visit Salon.com in the very early part of this decade. Use to be a decent read also. But then they started added in all this subscription stuff and forcing you to watch commercials if you wanted to read certain articles. It slowly but surely drove me off and until I actually remembered the site today for some weird reason. I hadn't visited it in many many years I realized. I pretty much had forgotten that the site even existed.

yeah, a few old forums.  I go back every once and a while to see what it's like, and they're all barren and forgotten now.

I suppose I could also fit the Drudgereport into this catgeory. I use to be obsessed with that site constantly checking it out at least a dozen or more times a day just to see what could get me mad.

I kicked the habit a year or so before the election.

TeamXbox forums
Kung Fu Cult Cinema forums [I don't think any of this site exists anymore]
Some anime forum, can't even remember the name anymore
NeoGAF [lololololol, but it's true]
SuperDickery [I've already looked at all the stuff there :(]
Plasticman's Emulation Zone
Nuklear Power - 8-Bit Theater

Team EZMode forums.  Those were basically the extreme version of these forums, but with a lot less people.

A site that really went to shit was Gamespy. Once they got bought by IGN it seemed like they stopped actually trying. It looks like the site is just a blog of gaming headline news now.

Salon.com is a big one for me too *dap*. I used to go there obsessively but almost never do now. Maybe it was the case of it seeming to be the only game in town (at least to me) at the time. Just isn't in my rotation anymore. Ditto with drudge, just irrelvent to me.

TheOnion, even though they seemed to have really stepped up there game the last couple years. I still enjoy hitting up there videos once in a while and having 5-10 that I haven't seen yet (unless they've been posted here or elsewhere)

All the gaming sites - don't much care anymore and usually just give a quick scan to the first page on GAF.

Also, stuff like aintitcool, latinoreview, etc. - usually anything noteworthy will bubble up to one of the forums.

yeah i've got loads of news sites/blogs that i just stopped going to.  it seems to happen when i get a new computer; i just don't update all of my bookmarks and some end up forgotten.  also like others here i've almost completely stopped reading gaming sites.  i don't play most games so i don't want to read previews or news about them, and most other content on those sites is shameful fanboy garbage.

That's a good one. Much like salon I forgot that dude even existed.

Daily Kos seems to still have some pull but I stopped visiting that site long ago also.

Sites like Talking points memo and others seem to be more factual and give you less of a cultish mindset and replaced them for me years ago.

Megatokyo. A lot of fans didn't bother with it after one of the creators left.

I have a few sites that fits the thread title but i can't remember any of them now  :lol

Yahoo.com

A bunch of pro-wrestling sites, but quit following that shit back in 2000.

Definitely. TPM is great, and over the last couple months they've really began doing a nice jobs slamming democrats in the pocket of various interests. I couldn't get conservative friends to glance at Huffington Post for instance, but now a few of them link me TPM lol

I don't visit any place other than Evilbore these days.  Too busy with other things and the only reason why I visit EB these days is out of habit.

Back in the day: EB, GAF, right wing watch, the atlantic, talking points memo, harper's, erowid (to lol at the drug stories), and probably a couple of others I'm forgetting.

I like this one because it's one of the only Superman comics I've ever bought, though I don't remember my 11yr old self noticing something was amiss
