Oh S##T Virtua on FORCE for X360
« on: May 19, 2010, 12:16:56 AM »
The 2 on 2 Virtua On that never got a home console release and Mars was slightly based on is finally coming home to X360.
From what I heard back in the day it's no OT but it's still a very good game and the 2 on 2 adds a lot of depth and strategy.  On X360 with online play it will be zoommgggg.

Kind of interesting timing since the 2 on 2 Gundam Versus Extreme game which is basically Virtua On Force w/Gundam will be PS3 exclusive when it comes out on console later on.

I'll probably buy it when it comes out, but I like my Virtual On to be 1v1 affairs. I hope the netcode is as solid as VOOT at least.

This seems to be the shared sentiment of most people.  I don't really get why.  The Gundam 2 on 2 games work well.
I didn't want Force on PS2 because with no way to do real 4p with all humans it'd be lame having forced AI buddies.  But on X360 you and your friend working together against 2 other guys...sounds good!

Though yeah, I guess it depends on the netcode.

I just like having home versions of games in franchises I like.  I love VO, I mean I even love Marz and played the heck out it, so I'm stoked to finally get to play Force.

These games just don't work well without the arcade controls. :/

They released twin sticks for the 360 in Japan, right?

I think they got a very limited release and they cost like two hundred bucks.  I'm not paying $200 for sticks for a $15 XBL Arcade game. :(

Virtual On Force will be a retail release, not an XBLA game.

If it's a retail release, will they bother releasing it in North America?

Yeah they do. I'm sure they work better on arcade controls though. I'll whoop anyone here in VOOT online. :punch

Man, I'll give it another shot but I just can't get into this series anymore. I was really into it when it was in the arcades and released on the Saturn. Played it a lot with a friend who owned a Japanese Saturn along with two twin sticks!

Give Senko no Ronde (aka WarTech) a try. It's a similar type of game, but a bit more fun (IMHO)

Did you get the new one?

More fun than VOOT? Eh...

It is a good game though. If anyone wants to play online invite me.
