Good stuff (assuming it isn't some cheap shit PC version like Saints Row 2).  Don't know how Fable 3 will run on the 360, but Fable 2 was a nightmare.  My xbox sounded like it was dying while playing the game.  Still hope the 360 version is ME1 to ME2 style improvement.

Really?  I fiddled around with Fable 2 recently and it seems quite different from the first game.  I read somewhere that Molyneux has different goals and focus for each game although it could just be his usual lies.

The stories are self-contained like Zelda so you don't need to play a previous game to know what's going on.

It's alright. It's neither as bad as the detractors say nor probably as good as the reviews were. I found the first to be not so enjoyable but I'm able to tolerate and play through the 2nd even with its flaws.

Fable 2's combat is the same, simplistic button-mashing as in the original. There's some more interaction with NPCs, but it's still very simplistic. The world is more open than the first, but that's about it. Like I said, with Fable 3 on the horizon, there's just no reason to bother with Fable 2.

I liked Fable a lot, Fable 2 was ok but I got bored and gave it to sceneman to play who likes it but also hasn't finished it. Boring game confirmed.  I think I may have just outgrown the series, a lot of time passed between playing Fable and Fable 2 for me. I was definitely more pulled in by the setting of Fable.

yeah, Fable 2 is gorgeous and a good "chill out" game, beacuse of its ludicrous difficulty. i.e its mostly actually boring because its so friggn easy. Its basically the Fisher Price of action games, big colourful and easy. For the kids. A shame all the gratuitous sexual content would have pushed the rating up.
