I was part of a focus group a few years back where they showed us a Pac-man game that was supposed to come out on the 30th anniversary.
It was like a weird Super Mario Sunshine clone. You go around fighting pollution (instead of eating dots) and you fight it by planting seeds to clean the world and you also beat up ghosts.
And eating seeds can turn you into different modes of transportation to get around the game world. We all expressed our disgust with it since we went in expecting it to have something to do with pac-man as we know it. I said that if it didn't have pac-man on the cover, I would have no idea that it was the same franchise.
Thankfully, it seems like they listened to the criticism.
