Where the hell did this come from? I've never even seen a preview for it.

Oh cool.
I think I'm one of the few people that actually liked the first one.
Would have been better if it was multiplayer though.

This one is though right?

Any thoughts?  I haven't had a chance to turn on my X360.

This is supposed to be Lost Odyssey 2: The ARPG, which has me kind of excited!

I'm pretty sure it has online co-op.

Personally, I liked N3 more than the Dynasty Warriors games.  Satisfying combo system I guess.

Game isn't made by the developers who did the first one (the Kingdom of Fire Korean dev)

Game is made by Feel Plus, the team that made Shadow Hearts (back when they were Nautilus) and then Lost Odyssey.  This is their next game.  The art style and graphics are very similar to LO gritty fantasy, the game is supposed to have lots of story & cutscenes like a jrpg, and they are adding various rpg sub-systems into the game.  The sell is that it's essentially an ARPG x Dynasty Warriors now in the style of Lost Odyssey.  Plus since it's a completely different dev the gameplay should be a total rehaul.

I'll definitely give it a look.  Gonna download the demo now since I just got home.

Ok hype deflated.  I had forgotten that the game was apparently so good that MS dropped it and Konami who pumps out all kinds of shit picked it up to publish.

Take N3 and make the complete opposite game and you have N3-2.

Good things about N3-2
+Multiple weapons with different abilities and stats
+useful cool magic attacks that you can equip to the four face buttons (LB+face button to use)
+accessories that let you change up stuff like cut down on move recovery or up stats
+stats to upgrade with xp
+CHECKPOINTS (aka, the biggest failing of N3)
+The ability to fully change your magic/equipment/weapon loadout when retrying at a checkpoint before going back in
+Good responsive quick roll on the RT

Bad things about N3-2
-The combat kind of sucks.  No feel of actually hitting anything.  (N3 got this right)
-The animation is amazingly awful.  Like PS2 DW games awful (N3 had good animation)
-Graphics/framerate are kind of bad (N3 looked nice)
-QTEs for bosses and shitty ones at that

:|

It's not bad, but it feels like you are playing a PS2 game.  Basically like Drakenguard 2 in HD.  I haven't played Nier but the combat looks a hell of a lot better, which is kind of ironic since that's actually THE DRAKENGUARD guys.  If someone took the best parts of N3 (visuals and combat feel) and mixed it with what's in the N3-2 demo (stats, equipment, magic, checkpoints, dodge roll) you'd get a great game of this sort.  But going by the demo....maybe when it hits $20.

there is a part i usually see in N3-2 trailers with that big fire demon and you fighting horde of enemies in front of it, i thought it looked better than N3 graphically just from that.

Yeah, that's the 2nd level in the demo.  It looks cool for a few seconds and then you are playing and it looks bleh. :(

N3 also had better art, no not better, just more unique (colorful) for its genre. this looks like kingdom under fire: circles of doom part 2.

It can't be that bad, it just can't be.

How's the soundtrack?

Is Miz still producing this game? If not, what has he been working on lately? I'm a biiiiig fan of his games.

Soundtrack seemed good.  Nothing amazing, but not bad.

It's not that bad, it's just not good combat & not good graphics.  So basically feels like a budget game.

I don't know if he personally is, but Q games is producing again.

the text is weird...

the way he runs is hilarious and no impact when hitting enemies at all.

smh.

so basically....delete this off my hdd and don't bother trying it?

The original N3 is one of those "I know it's bad, but for some reason I'm compelled to play it" games.  I can't see myself putting up with more than a couple non-checkpointed deaths at bosses though.

It has checkpoints!  I listed that in my positives!!

I'd say the demo is worth trying if you've downloaded it.  It'll do a good job to ensure you don't impulse buy it when it drops to $40.

The first one was great even though it had a HORRIBLE demo.  The only reason I got it was because prole gave it away in some pictionary contest.

The combos actually required variety.
