The Rules:

-All matches will be played the same way across the board: Best 3 out of 5 matches, with each match being set to 5 rounds.

-The winner of a match MUST stick with the same character. Only the loser can switch characters.

-You can use any of the three characters you have pre-selected for this tournament.

-This tournament will use a losers' bracket, so everyone will get a second chance to come back.

-Lag sucks, but can't be helped. Do your best to deal with the situation should the match be slow/choppy. Don't be a whiny little bitch.

-If you have a mic, please at least use it before the match starts to make sure everything is ready to go between you and your opponent.

-If a match ends due to a lost connection, the players should restart and keep the same number of rounds won/lost up to that point.

-Non-Bore members are responsible for keeping up with this tournament on their own. CHECK THIS THREAD.

-If you don't respond to messages/mail from your opponent within 48 hours of the next match-up being made, you will be disqualified.

-Have fun!

I voted for 2 characters since I have no idea who I'd use as a third, but I don't really care. I'd find someone to play as.

Does SSF4 have replays or anything like that? I'd like to see videos if possible. I've only played a few times, but I always enjoy watching tournaments and am planning on picking the game up for competitive play sooner or later

Every player gets a replay of their matches stored in their battle log that they can save permanently. Hopefully we've got a couple people playing with some sort of capture software who can upload their own matches at the very least.

I think I'm gonna switch my third to Boxer. Rufus isn't doing it for me lately as I've apparently lost the ability to link standing short -> close standing fierce, and my Guile playing must've done something for my Balrog because I don't recall ever playing anywhere near as well with him as I have been lately.

Also, I'm thinking SSF4 tweaked the leniency on the input for his different types of dash punches because I used to miss overhead inputs more often than one would generally care to admit. Or, again, maybe it's just because of taking a break and switching him out for awhile.

Guile vs. Guile is the most boring shit --will avoid at all cost, even if it means playing Bison or Boxer at a disadvantage. You tick away at one another until one gets a decent life lead, then that person turtles until either the time runs out or the other player gets annoyed and starts playing recklessly aggressive to catch up, whereby you crush their poor offense. Pretty similar to the Honda vs. Honda match.

Dictator mirror isn't so bad relative to those two. Honestly not at all familiar with the Boxer mirror since I've only recently started using him online.

It's broken at the moment --it's supposed to do more damage on a counter hit and currently does not. The patch fixes that.
